Ive got a ching spec copy of the draper one, cost £20ish years ago off ebay. Used loads of times its never let me down, makes light work of getting them off.
Id say 99% of the time the cheaper draper, us pro etc are just branded cheap tools, so worth buying the cheapest unbranded for a one off...
Itll be more or less terminal if its been rattling, you have seconds to stop the engine if you damage the sump like that. Once oil light comes on its game over usually, however i had an oil cooler hose fail on my old astra gte years ago, and i stopped it when oil light came on and it somehow...
Can anybody recommend a half decent caliper windback tool? Something that will cover a few options if thats possible
The bahco grips are awesome. I want the larger set as even better.
If the cams have moved that much then they have been incorrectly torqued up. First of all make sure the crank is pinned up in the right hole.
Keyed crank pulley is easy to do, simply rotate the crank on the old pulley bolt, turn engine a few times repin crank and check horse shoe goes in.
Looks spot on. I should have advised you that the top rear shock bolts corrode into the tube. Mine were a b*****d initially, i just worked them forward and backwards with the impact gun to break the corrosion.
Ive used pms megane 225 10mm spacers on mine before i got the lower et wheels. Megane...

Front Ast's are fitted. I took an educated guess that megane 2 rs top mounts would bolt straight up and it absolutely paid off.
One issue i had noticed with the Kangoo is that the strut tops get covered in water, as they are under the scuttle panel which has loads of holes in. The oem...
As above take exhaust off and see if there is any oil deposits on the rear turbine, if its wet with oil turbo is bad, if its normal soot then its ok and its issues with the engine
Updates
Finally pulled my finger out and started fitting the Ast's, rears first.
Started with bushes as got some powerflex in stock
Done
Shocks trial fit and fit well. No issues bolted straight on.
Im no expert on setting up coilovers but ive went with the approach of leaving 1/3 shock travel...
It was as awful to replace as you can imagine. Can carefully pull sound deading out of the way from underneath but does not give the access required to feed the cable in. After much swearing i took the airbox off and unclipped the sound deadening at the top, which lets you get your hand in if...
First almost breakdown/recovery in the blue dci on Tuesday, must have cursed it with saying about the reliability. Sat in traffic on a main road and the clutch cable snapped at the pedal end. Its been clicking for a while but assumed it was wear on the pedal ratchet :cautious:
Anyway started it...
Totally agree, loads of clearance from cv to hub on these so never going to cause issues. Nothing worse than them cheapo cv clips that never go on tight.
Updates
Blue dci has been running well and its not using a drop of oil, not had to lay a spanner on the engine since refresh. I bedded the rings in on mineral oil for 2000 miles in the end, as it was still smoking a little on full throttle around the 1000 mile mark, which cleared up around...
I believe pulling the ecu will always throw the light on even when turned off in the multiplex. I just left the airbag ecu in with the airbags disabled and no warning lights.
