Upgrade/Remove or Repair to OEM? (A/C, PAS, etc)

You could add a cooler however not essential, running on minimum does not cause any issues.

Upgrade/Remove or Repair to OEM? (A/C, PAS, etc)

Option 1 if you were enjoying it as is before the pas pump issue. Run fluid level on minimum mark when new pump is on and you wont have anymore issues. I wouldnt consider epas if your using the box of tricks to make it work, as the feel is crap. Needs to be wired up properly which is a headache...

    T. Turbo is back

Its crazy how much work is needed to make them reliable for sustained fast driving in high ambient temps. The heat in this engine bay is mega, does not cause too much of an issue for what we use it for, but if used on track it would need quite a bit of work to stop radiant heat off the exhaust...

    T. Turbo is back

Small interim update. Took T.Trophy for a run out on Sat. Weather was awesome around 30deg ambient so went for a steady ish drive around some great North Yorkshire b roads, past Croft, Northallerton area and back via Stokesley. I dont like leaning on turbo cars massively in these temps as it...

    Kangoo Compact (aka Racevan3)

Last Thursday mate, didnt realise you were so close. Ill be back over soon once ive sorted the trophy will give you a shout next time. Was so hot on Thursday, google maps took me past creamfields and ended up stuck in slow moving traffic. Oil temps 105deg in traffic due to heatsoak was crazy...

    Kangoo Compact (aka Racevan3)

Updates Booked Kangoo in for map tweak at EfiParts last week. Was lucky and got a last min pm slot at short notice. As it was running ok and was busy with other stuff did not get round to giving it a quick once over until the morning of the day when booked in. A quick look round and i noticed...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

I might try a set of the RS2 on the Kangoo when the ds1.11 are finished. Good bite from cold? I guess they are an endurance pad compound.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Indeed. Sounds like a train stopping unless the brakes are hot. Everybody looks when your in traffic. After years of running them they are the same on any car ive used them on, i just tolerate it  id use stock pads on the brembos for road use and bosh the ds1.11 in for track if using it daily.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

The pad area is indeed a bit smaller than the Brembo from memory, im not sure how they compare for hard sustained track use but for road use the power is superb. I run the larger master cylinder and the brake pedal feel is great, very sharp. Ive not tried brembos on the clio2 but the...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

I was going to say, you have bob hope of finding new for less than £240 now. On plus side they last ages.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

They arent that expensive for the kit and pad savings could make it back quite fast if using it all the time. Rebuild kit is nowt for them too. Where do you get ds.1.11 for the meg brembos for less than a ton. Always been £200 a set for megane, ive priced up some recently and £240 ish a set...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Get the brembos gone for wilwoods mate. £80 for ds1.11 pads and all the clearance;) ive not weighed them but id bet they are lighter too.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

I love these wheels and the price is right, so tempted. It would be a bit of earache off the mrs as i have 5 sets of spare wheels cluttering up the garage already

Clio2 non a/c radiator bracket restore/rust removal using citric acid

Cheers mate. Its quite harmless stuff they use it in bath bombs and drinks and flavouring, but agree its hard not to start stripping every nut and bolt/bracket off to strip and repaint once you start lol. Cheers mate. Agreed bedliner hides a million sins its the best.

Clio2 non a/c radiator bracket restore/rust removal using citric acid

Morning all Just restored a set of clio2 non a/c radiator brackets (same as 172 cup i believe) and thought id share the results. Found a set on ebay on a random slam panel for cheap. Looked like they had been in the sea as expected. Did not get any before pics for some reason so only got a...

    T. Turbo is back

Could be the same block if thats the case. I got the cheap forged bottom end off him and sorted it, thats in the kangoo with your old 250 head on it. Works quite well for a cheapo build. I absolutely cleared him out of any Renault spares
  21. Brigsy

    T. Turbo is back

I wonder if this was a different block as this one was mint in the bores after amac had bored/honed it, so yours might be in my garage. Steve was absolutely anal building this as he said it was the last engine he was building for it.

Engine Warning Light and Shift Light?

No gearbox temp sensor on 172, scan it with clip and see what comes up. Might be worth checking earths etc.

    T. Turbo is back

I think Steve said it had a bent rod and that was it, rest was spot on, head was in decent condition when i fitted the cams. Not bad at all considering it has been hydrolocked. I guess it was just down on power but running ok.

    T. Turbo is back

Cheers mate(y) Steve told me he got the engine off you back in the day. Interestingly the head off it is on my Kangoo and the block is in this after machining so ive got most of it now, pistons went in a r26 of my mates a few years ago with a set of cheap maxspeeding rods for a cheap upgrade...

    T. Turbo is back

Feb/March 2021 Not a lot had happened after Xmas/new year apart from initial wash and pushed into the garage, combination of cold winter weather, up to my eyes building the kangoo with that almost in a driving state so was pushing to get that finished. I made an effort to sort the spares out...

Brigsy's other cars - formerly kangoo 172 cup

They are either free and look like they have been parked in the sea or expensive ish no inbetween ground. The one that sold recently in Renault livery was epic. Its mad to think that the vans are a lot rarer than any r5 now.

Brigsy's other cars - formerly kangoo 172 cup

After the gtt going i needed a bit of turbo fix. Had to go to Bishop Auckland to collect a techincs amp and large speakers for my garage sound system. As they were too long for the Kangoo  took the Extra van. Forgot how good this is to drive. The noise, the smell of fuel, oil and shame...

No idea overall which would be the better base, but its a winning formula in either chassis in my eyes

    BG 182

Sometimes a bit of residual brake fluid comes out of the nips once up to temp, never seem to be able to get rid of all of it after bleeding. Agree with the stainless fittings sometimes weeping when fitted, does my nut usually end up going as tight as i dare.

    Trophy (Large Amount Of Pictures)

Looks spot on. Thats a mega list of parts, perfect time to do it though before the parts get very hard to find.
