Quick blast to Teesside Autodrome for the track night tonight. Did not go on due to the rain but got a noise test whilst there - 4700rpm 102db. Might need to add a silencer lol.
Pms shifter was rattling like feck the other day. Fitted dampener onto it and its 75% improved. The weight makes the...
Thats how i done this one to be fair as first attempt in reverse did not work out so well. Ive fitted the dampener on the linkage now but not had chance to test drive. The extra weight makes the shift feel even better, will try it through the week and go from there.
I did initially set it up in reverse then had several attempts at resetting it. Can get all forward gears ok reverse is a little bit difficult. Any tips ? Will better adjustment make a difference as this had crossed my mind.
I have one from when the exhaust was first done, its a bit naughty though haha. I was going to get a drive by over Blakey yesterday but rain put a stop to it.
Sorry for bumping an old thread but my Pms shifter intermittently rattles like feck.
It can rattle on acceleration from low down in 2nd all the way to the limiter and then same again. Dont get me wrong i expected rattles but its savage then sometimes silent ? Same as vids earlier.
I have the...
Cheers mate? Every mod or fix has always made a massive improvement on this as it was in such poor shape when bought so always feels like its worth doing the work. Its been quite enjoyable yet expensive to spanner. Got loads planned but just need more ££ ! Was only supposed to be a cheap...
Clubsport look with gear gaitor fitted
So get it all back together early afternoon today. I needed to pop to a village a few miles away so take it for a run out. No tools or nothing as i like to live dangerously lol.
All goes well and was feeling a blast out so headed over Blakey Ridge and...
Tuesday arrives and alloy plate arrives
X marks the spot that needs to be cut
Cutting this was not as easy as planned - 20mm is quite thick and grinder was not really touching it so got my mate to chain drill it out. We call his garage BAMS (back alley machine shop) anything goes lol. I would...
Box swap took a bit longer than anticipated ?
Got box out fast enough, subframe off. Left steering rack in situ as all the hpas pipes looked like hassle to remove
New valeo clutch in - old one was Luk and well worn nearly to the rivets
Box back on Jc - 129 fitted to replace the knackered Jc...
Have you knocked the underbonnet fuse box cover next to the battery? If you disturb the small 4 pin relays they do stuff like this. I had the same issue when changing a battery, knocked cover then non start - relay was not fully home.
Yep returnless setup. I wouldnt bother with non return valve as it will prob just fire up then conk out whilst its sorting itself out
From reading up about it i believe some maps prime the pump every turn of the key (rstuner ?)
Yep sounds like regulator fault and need to crank to build pressure up when stood, common issue. Fuel pressure reg is fitted in the sender unit. I believe all you can do is buy a new sender and pump complete, have looked for reg on its own but no joy. Mine does it when sat about for a few days.
Might be weak fuel pressure regulator. Click the ign on once and turn off. Click it on again and the the fuel pump will prime, try starting it then and see if it fires straight up.
Car hoard like me and you wont have a problem like that in the future ?Ive sold a couple of cheap cars in the past, cut up a couple of Renault 11 turbos/gt turbos But they were rotten as pears/crashed so not a massive loss.
I used to own a 4x4 saph cossie replica that is still kicking about in...
Box swap day. Steady 45mins and subframe is ready to drop, quick bit of dinner and scan a meg250 with clip then back on with it. Hopefully be running and driving with new gearbox, new clutch & pms shifter in tomorrow ?
I wouldnt put atf in a road car however i ran it for at least 5 years in a jb3 no issues and that was with 235hp/220ft/lb and many trackdays. One of my friends ran a jc5 with a quaife lsd fitted - 336hp and that was tracked regular without issue on dextron II. Maybe mechanical sympathy on both...
Its very basic just 2 wires straight from the interior clock to the mirror..sensor might be broken or disconnected if no reading. I retrofitted the temp sensor in my dci and my kangoo.
