The best performance upgrade for the 1.2's (when the time comes) is to take it to a garage and exchange the car and some cash for a different vehicle altogether

if you just use it as a car and not a track toy I can vouch for the general decentness of the Bosch stuff you get out of Kwik Kit.
It works just as well as standard, is cheap and you'll get replacement pads forever.

I wouldn't get too excited about modding a 1.2, although there is a lad on here who's been doing a storming job colour-coding and relief-colour-coding their shopping-edition clio. White steels are a winner.
To determine the "phase" of your motor, does it have lights like...
