I ended up going with Aviva this year. Previous years I've always paid around £450-500 with Greenlight and Sky. Aviva wanted £250, and i managed to get £50 cashback via topcashback, so total cost was £200. That for 12k a year and business miles with mod's declared and only £150 excess
Unless you're very short, it's definitely worth going for the lower mounts over standard height.
I'm 6ft, but find the lower mounts are still too high. I'm going to eventually switch my recaro's for bucket seats
I think the material of the pipe makes a difference to the sound. My last 182 used a 90 alloy bend into a 90 silicon bend. I bought this setup to allow me to remove the RS2 manifold, and to be honest i thought it sounded better than the RS2 setup.
I've now got a 90 silicon bend into the...
I had an early Evol Dogbone and removed it after a couple of weeks.
Since then had the powerflex inserts in both the dogbone and engine, and it was much better, very little extra vibration, and not even noticeable on the move.
I've got a dogbone insert to add to my new 182, and will be adding...
I've had an VW Jetta with a 2.0 tdi engine, an audi TT with a 1.8T engine, and more recently a Z4 with the 3.0 engine. I'm more comfortable with the reliability of my clio 182 than any of them to be honest.
Just started my 4th ownership of a 182. The previous times i'd had a failed gearbox that...
The wheels were part of the attraction to this car for me, brand new 1.2's and AD08R's, so saved me having to buy a set. Also got Evo 7 Recaro seats on lower mounts and 330mm omp wheel with cruise buttons added.
No wasn't mine, i did enquire about having the group N timing done with the belt change, but i just couldn't fit it in with my schedule at the minute, and didn't want to push my luck with the belt change being over due by a couple of months.
My recent purchase, fresh from having it belts and dephaser done, plus engine and gearbox oil changed, thermostat and coolant, and airbag lights programmed out at Diamond Motors. Expensive start to ownership, but hopefully worth the cost upfront for hassle free motoring for a while.
I've...
Sold the car, bought it back. Then pulled the RS2 off to sell and sold the car again. Didn't end up doing anything with it. The plan was to change things up when i changed the belts which were due this year from memory.
Do you already have a RS2 or are you looking to purchase one?
I normally had them pretty loose to be honest. It's also got the brass insert at the bottom end of the shifter attached to the linkage, not sure if this stiffens things up when warm, but loosening the bolts to pretty much finger tight normally sorted it.
Previous member to me was also on here...
Has it got a Yanoo stiff shifter fitted?
I found mine got quite a lot stiffer on longer runs when everything got nice and warm
Looking at your profile pic i can see it's my old clio. It has a Yanoo 3.0 which is adjustable. If you get it nice and hot (when it starts squeaking), take the gaiter...
I do 45 miles a day in my RB 182 cup. It's not the perfect commuter car, but anything else more sensible or suited to your daily drive will be boring.
They're too noisy and the seating position sucks, other than that they aren't too bad. My commute is mostly 40-50mph average speed roads, but i...
It's definitely a 182 Cup and not a cup packed car, so would have had cloth seats.
One of the connectors already has a resistor installed and is taped up, but looking at a guide earlier it looked like two connectors needed resistors and i'm missing the second connector. Can i just use a scotch...
Picked up my 182 on tuesday and was told by the previous own that the airbag light was on due to the aftermarket steering wheel and he'd never gotten around to getting it sorted.
Car also has Evo 7 Recaro seats and is a geniune 182 Cup, so i believe no seat airbags as standard, but does have...
Would there be much difference in power and torque delivery between a 2.25 system and a 2.5 system. If so what would you expect?
Heard the 2.25 system with decat on a few cars over video and it seems to have a raspy sound which I like, as apose to boomy.
The ktec price is more than the...
I'm not looking for a quiet system, just not something that's overly loud.
Will also be doing track days in the car, so need to be mindful of that. Though I suspect pretty much any off the shelf system would be fine at most tracks with the cat in place
Was just looking at the milltek at the minute, as I've found a good deal on it.
I'd heard it's loud with a decat, but I'd be using the standard cat, as I can't be bothered with the messing around come mot time.
Have you tried using it with the cat on. Wondering if it makes much difference.
Looking to pick up a cat back system for the 182.
I understand the milltek is one of the quieter systems, but would a non resonated system be too loud or drone for a daily commuter?
I live on a fairly quiet estate, and my 20 mile commute is probably 70% 40 and 50mph roads, mostly lined with...
Sold my TT 225, was pretty high spec and running around 285bhp. Was a money pity and I wouldn't have one over a Clio 172/182. The 180 must have been painful.
All the mk5 golf I looked at a few years ago were rust buckets. I wanted a diesel at the time and ended up buying a Jetta. Another costly...
He mentioned a couple of tiny dents that i probably wouldn't have noticed otherwise. The dent I found he said he didn't know anything about, and to be fair to him it looked fresh as there was a slightly black plastic like mark along the crease line. With the weather how it was yesterday, it...
This is the reason for the post to be honest. If it's an easy fix I don't mind getting it sorted myself, with the cost taken off the car.
The seller is taking the car to a garage tomorrow to get a quote, as he's knows someone that works there.
The other option is he gets it fixed and I buy the...
I've only been looking for a couple of days really. Sold my Z4 over the weekend, and was meant to be going down to one car. But really fancy a Clio again.
Thought about getting another diesel myself....then saw sense.
No unfortunately, I didn't think to grab a picture when I viewed the car. It's not bad to be honest, but the rest of the car is in so good condition that it stands out more.
So is anyone offering the Grp N setup with belts and dephaser, etc?
I'm potentially buying a 182 cup tomorrow, and it needs belts changing at the end of the month, so if this is available i'd definitely be interested
Went to view a 182 today, and noticed a crease in the rear quarter panel. It's not deep but is about 12 inches long or so, and goes from just off the rear wheel arch to the under side of the bump strip at about 30 degree angle.
I understand this shouldn't be an issue for a paintless dent repair...
My Z4 3.0i insurance finishes tomorrow with sky, renewal was £560. Aviva quoted me £205, plus with topcashback of £50 at the minute. Brings it down to £155 fully comp, that's 10k miles, with business cover and my wife who only has 2 years experience as second driver
Not sure what they'd do with...
