i've got a rubber pipe ontop of the oil seperator with a sort of push fiting on the end, exits from under the plenham on the o/s of the car,, any ideas what it goes to as i dont have the plastic pipe that clips on to it

the 172 dash loom i have has the plug for the climate control panel, which obviously dosn't match up to the poverty spec heater blower controll, what im wondering is is it all multiplexed through the uch or should i be able to pick out the blower motor wiring from the plug and mate it to my...

read on here that fred used 1.2 running gear on his 172 converted clio,, but i've got the engine out of mine tonight and started matching things up i've noticed the 1.2 shafts are different in that they dont have the carrier bolted to the block they just come straight from the gearbox to the hub...
anybody know what im looking at.

matching ecu, uch, instrument panel and looms. and also the details and immobiliser code from the vehicle they came out of
also have what i assume is a blank new plip key still in the bag from renault
once the lot is bolted in if i were to tow it...
in my rush to throw the f4r on the engine stand i forgot to mark the flywheel,,,
i take it the 'missing tooth' on the pickup lines up with the tdc sensor when the engine is timed up at tdc with the timing pin in?
could somebody confirm this for me

does anybody have/know where to get the locking tool to hold the pulleys while cracking off the pulley bolts.
ive done a couple of f4r's in the past and i've just gunned the bolts off but seen as i've been doing a few more recently i'd like the proper tool.

want to paint a 172 inlet a matt black colour,, want it obviously being in the engine bay to be quite durable to heat and what not.. so normal cellulose is out of the question

i've read from various places that once the ecu/looms uch etc etc have been disconnected sometimes they lock and need plugging in to clip to be reset before it will allow the engine to start
would this still be an issue if i were to send the ecu to be decoded bin the immobiliser etc??

i was thinking about this the other day and couldnt really get my head round it -
using front wheel spacers, you are not only widening the track but you are extending the "swing" of the front wheels aswell?
sort of when turning lock to lock the front wheels are actually moving backwards and...

but say you were to move the crankshaft sensor clockwise/anticlockwise around the crank a few degrees would it r****d/advance the igniton timing alone or would it put the injection timing out too...
Well the sub in the back of my car i have now decided is just a great big dead weight - which sildes all over the place on the country lanes even with 3 branches of halfords worth of velcro stuck to the thing.
