they are dead easy to fit, renaults use plastic gaiters, theres a tool to compress the metal clip up tight enough to hold it on, whenever i do them i use stretch gaiters (still remove the joint) just because they are so much less hassle to seal up.
do you have a spark? when i had the problem the only thing i checked before finding the immobiliser problem was if it had a spark and it didn't
it did however start up if you press and hold the button on the key and hold it as you crank it
the immobiliser light dosn't flash while cranking does it ? only i had exactly the same thing after doing a headgasket on an 8v clio and it was an immobiliser problem,
the first second the belt failed the piston will have pushed the valves shut and bent the rest out of the way so continually trying to start it would do no further damage at all, worst ive seen is a cracked valve guide which does not even need a new head just the valves it bent and a set of...
mechanic bloke is nowhere near correct, to tell you that is just saying he does not want to do the job
ive done a couple of snapped belts on 8v clio's no 16v's admittedly but they are both interference engines
each one i've done has bent exhauxt valves first one i did had bent 3 second only had...
not once seen that on a standard car and i wouldnt buy the fooker if it did, spend millions on designing a car and cant even figure out wheel clearences??
dont think so,,,
no you cant fail for that, and we use to have loads of problems with low cars getting them over the pit at my old garage
you can however fail if the top of your arches dont cover the tires
and you can also technically fail if there is insufficent clearence between the wheel and any other part of...
theres not really an awful lot to get wrong to be fair, if it was a forumla one engine possibly but if all they have changed is the headgasket and possibly skimmed the head a tad theres not really anything to do wrong
(unless they let an idiot do it)
what did it fail on though, HC CO or lambda, when your car fails an emmisions test the cause is half diagnosed for you!
if it failed on HC you more than likely have a missfire problem you are not burning all petrol efficiently (HC's are unburnt fuel)
if it failed on CO it can be all number of...
sometimes it can be a bit of a mare getting all the air out of the system, you need to keep an eye on the level when its running up and also leave the bleed screw off the thermostat housing on the head, you dont want to run the head dry
hornchurch, me and a mate could knock it out for you pretty quickly as a private job, based in dagenham.
Dont know if you know them we work at church elm?
you serious? if i did something like that i sure as fook wouldn't have posted it on here
ruined disk, bent hub, cracked drum? never jack a car up in the middle like that let alone with a scissor jack
thought i took risks lol
to do the job properly its going to need custom manifolds oil lines made up return welded in to the sump low comp pistons probably forged rods lots of headwork different cam new management
oh, and dump valves are for people who dont know what they are doing...
immobiliser cuts ignition aswell, found that out to my cost the other day did a head gasket job and fooker wouldn't start turns out the owner knew he give me a duff key,, did start if you press the lock button as you crank it though??
when you say its not priming can you get the car to start...
if im gonna spend my money and mess about changing the speakers i'm not going to leave standard tweaters in there it defeats the object to me
like the look of those type r ones need a sub and amp too my hand me down setup has seen better days haha
dont know anything about the engine and dont have autodata on this pc,, find out if your engine has hydraulic lifters or not
i would have thought they aren't and it will just want the tappets adjusting
If pads have only just been changed its just brake squeal
can try to combat it by putting copperslip on the back of the pads were it mates with the piston and caliper but it dosn't rend to help much, best way is to buy pads with the anti squeal pad stuck on the backs
Right, would like to change my front components on my 1.2 16v 04
what i to have everything mounted as it was standard, i've been told that 13cm speakers fit straight in and i want the tweeters in the original dash locations, i can hid the Xover under the dash somewhere im sure
what i want is...
no he wants to see if he can c**k a back wheel off the ground cornering,
if he said i want to see how quickly i can get round a corner i'd possibly understand it but??
maybe just me
