Because it just isn't a nice product to use. It's for body shops that want a quick fix without an afterthough to what the paint looks like as long as it's smooth.
I always aim for 100% correction. Obviously, you want the best outcome possible. But I have only ever achieve anything like that on my own Clio. Most cars come to me in such a state that 85-90% is the limit do to RDS/thin paint.
Yes.
I'm not joking, the Clio had the above treatment for six months before I caught the detailing bug. Oh the early days of 2004...
Good idea.
Amen brother!
But it doesn't contain any abrasives, so we still need a polish :)
Almost doubling up there, but I have done it before.
So a fair mix of car paints and hardness. Look at 203s with a hand pad, backed up by a decent filler glaze, (Clearkote/Poorboys range).
G3 is a polish. There is no curing involved...? It's not a sealant!
Don't be. It gets a bad name. Even with VAG paint, a decent machine polish by a N00b will do wonders.
But with the sacrifice of how much paint?
Pics would really help Scott.
Do you mean the tyres look glossy, or your trim? The Vinyl and Rubber Care/Tyre Dressing are the same product with different Esters (the compounds that make different scents). It is an OK product on trim, but is only good for a day/show on tyres.
When you say "clean headlights", do you have a...
Key question, what car is it?
If you're talking BMW/VAG paint work, machine polishing is likely to be your only option as the paint is just too hard to even start making headway.
If it's Renault paint, Menzerna 203s on a Lake County Hand Cut Pad could help. Failing that, P1 from GTechnic has...
Spot on.
But to also move on from SRP, look into P1 with a hand applicator, or my personal favourite 203s from Menzerna, with a Lake County Orange Hand Cut pad;
As Lew has mentioned, SRP is a great allrounder as it has minor polishing particles but also fills the rest of the swirls. So if you...
It's like Christmas tbh. I don't really get the "Christmas excitement OMGZZ" feeling on the 25th any more, but I definitely get a certain buzz from having packages arrive!
I still have a bottle of this in the cupboard and I used the SRP/EGP for quite a while when I first started out. But then again, we have all used the "one sponge, one bucket, one leather" method ;)
I've had a similar experience every time we've had a puncture (never on my cars, thankfully/fingers crossed/touches wood).
No reason why not but a lot of companies seem to be very wary of you coming back as ghost saying you were killed after your tyre exploded due to the repair... Oh, that and...
Back to black lasts around 7.3 seconds in the rain.
The AutoGlym Bumper Care is not bad as a basic product. But there are much better products out there.
Have a look on eBay Gopher. If you feel you need a Forge/Samco one, fair enough. But there are some great 4ply (rather than 5) Hong Kong specials that are well trusted by tuners on AudiSport with cars running in excess of 350hp. Every little towards the respray and all that.
I see what you did...
Have a look in the detailing forum for trim detailers. There are a lot of threads, with the same questions asked almost daily - should be of some help.
Shop around.
It doesn't matter what other people are paying - going back to your insurer and telling them that "Bitt Chin is 25 with a clean license and rents the room next to mine and does more miles, but pays 130,000 yen less than me".
Insurance is personal. If you're not happy with the...
Have you or the person you are adding to the policy received any points/fines in the last five years.
Simple question. Yes or no.
Your mum has, so you answer yes. You then fill in the details of when, what for, how much and how many points. The insurance then calculates your premium, you pay...
