Does anyone know can I fit 17" Twingo sport wheels to my standard 182?

Can I fit Cup hubs without changing springs and dampers? Will this then give the Cup's increased camber and slightly wider track?

When my 182 did this the Lamda sensor connector had come off so it wasn't getting a reading of the exhaust gas.

Where are BenR and Angelworks?

I've just fitted Green Stuff pads all round, from Demon Tweeks. They've much more bite than Renault pads from new, we'll see how they hold up over time. Pads usually harden with use and are less effective from cold.

Both mine went on my 54 plate car, one after 15k, the other after 20k. Replaced grudgingly under warranty. This is the only problem I've had though (from new).

Pads seem to harden with use so older pads (even with plenty plenty of pad left) work less well from cold (the backs take longer to warm up and can be hardly working even when ABS cuts in at the front). The more you cook pads to warm them up the harder they become and more they need heating...

Does the car feel any more rigid with the strut brace fitted?

They're constrained by emission limits, not just the simple ones tested at the MOT, but much tighter limits over the whole rev range and accelerating and decelerating. These can compromise both performance and economy.

And if you have loads of rattle, I bet you have Cup suspension too.

Uprating just the fronts must change the brake balance a lot. Suppliers say Clios do hardly any braking on the back anyway so it doesn't matter, but I find they do more on the back than previous cars I've had, that's why overall braking is good.

I didn't think it worth bothering with, but modern water based paint is so vulnerable to bird pooh etc, I may have been wrong. I'd seriously consider it another time.

The shift light on my 182 is so inconspicuous I'd had the car (and reached peak revs) for months before I noticed it. And then only at night. A bleep would be more useful.

The high clutch pedal is what makes the driving position so difficult, you have to sit so far back to be comfortable with it you're too far from the wheel and gearstick. It's a design fault. They could have made the clutch travel a bit shorter and a bit heavier for me.

I waited around this long same time last year, took twice the 8 weeks they told me. Worth the wait though. But clean off the bird pooh as soon as it lands, it really eats into modern water based paint.
