my cars not a clio but its a track car and i have a quaife and its brilliant, to say its no gain over standard is total rubbish, its in a different street and comes with lifetime guarantee and is silent. Drive is as o.e until you start to press on then it comes alive, the harder you push the...
little vid of my day at combe , watch on HQ, enlarge the screen and turn up the sound.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_i-bCuNCAJ0
the last lap on this video was my quickest of the day at 1.18.8 but it contains a monumental error at the 1st chicane, i braked too late and understeered in...
^^^^lmao^^^
Thats what happens on track , you arent allowed to race so when a faster car comes up behind a slower one the rules say they have to slow down and let you past.
If the skyline was quicker mark wouldnt have caught it up in the first place would he !.
aaah i know who you mean...
yeah its a different drive alright, "mental" about sums it up,lmao
nah nothing else planned yet, would like to drive the new donington f1 layout mind.
Dave
Hello Mark, im going with track masters ,theres still space, i can get you details if you want to attend.
Yeah i outed my KV6 engine and Reyland motorsport dropped me in an audi tt 1.8t 225 turbo lump, with a purpose made adaptor plate it mounts straight to my uprated o.e PG1 gearbox with...
nice vid as always.
My cars about to hit the track at combe 3rd april for the first time since october last year, its had a 50% rise in bhp and a 90% rise in torque up to 300 bhp and 340ftlb respectively and weighs about a ton now with roll cage fitted...should be fun, lol.
Dave
i spoke to him after one session and we decided in the next session he would let me by and see if he could keep up with me ,so he pulled over on dunlop straight and i led the way for a few laps .In his words he said "he could just about hang on to me".
Ive got it on video actually but obviously...
Free bhp helps with things like this .
Video from donington last sunday.
MG ZS 180 Vs M3 CSL 360 BHP ,260 BHP/TON.
Watch on full screen in high quality ,turn sound up and enjoy.
Despite having just under half tank of fuel on this video ,you can see and hear as i enter the dunlop straight...

yeah theres an uprated clutch hydraulics kit made by an owner for little money .Many have done over 100k though on all original parts.
To try and show all my weight saving in pictures would ab a bit tricky ,all a pic would show would be a stripped shell. To show all my weight saving you would...
212 bhp at powerstation just after id had fast road cams fitted, apart from that full exhaust including Hayward and Scott custom manifolds and sport cat , induction and custom re map to suit.
Lovely linear delivery for track and good torque but theres no way to get bigger power from the kv6 so...
you be surprised ,there was 14 kilos of that sound deadening alone after id scraped it all off .You know that stuff thats like thick roofing felt or tar thats stuck in big patches all over the floor.
Dave
"what have i removed "
pretty much everything really!
most is free weight saved but i have a lightweight racing battery ,carbon fibre seat ,poly windows ,lightweight wheels etc .Weight has been verified on local scrappys weighbridge more than once.
ill be on track at donington this weekend...
oh yes
standard zs 180
175 bhp 1235 kilos = 144 bhp/ton
my zs 180
212 bhp 975 kilos = 221 bhp/ton
planning on an engine conversion shortly that will give an easy 300 bhp and reduce weight 30 kilos .Should shift a bit, lol.
Dave
hmmm lot of guessing going on here.
I bought a new set of t1-r's about 2 1/2 years ago and they were good road tyres but not up to much on track ,tyre walls too soft so i outed them and tried 888's and they are all ive run for the last 2 years , they are in another league in every condition...
no i havent driven one ,im not saying the actual performance of the car looks inadequate in anyway ,that would be hard to pass judgement on from a video .
Im saying that to me it doesnt appear to be being driven very quickly.
Dave
if you cant afford a full set then i wouldnt put any on the car till you can...your an accident waiting to happen mixing road tyres with 888's .!
888's heat up quickly on road ,quicker than normal tyres so the theory they will never get hot enough to lean on, on road is rubbish, they are...
impressive by the cup .
2 -2.5 seconds doesnt much but with an average speed around the lap of maybe 80 mph ,just think how far the cup will be ahead ,80 mph for 2 seconds is a loong way for one lap ,i would guess that 2 seconds equates to an actual on the tarmac lead of about at 80-100 metres...
yeah its felt greasy to me before but it grips up during the day as rubber goes down ,that can be said of anywhere though.
Markcup ,hardly standard yours is it but go for it anyway ,donington is a great track imo.
again ive driven donny 4 times in the wet and never felt anything i wouldnt expect ,apart from at the show thing few weeks back but oil had been spilt in a couple of areas by the drifters.
i would guess at 1.34/5 lap time for a standard clio ,hasnt anyone on here done it?
