So would the reccomendation be to disconnect the battery, clean up the terminals and connectors with some switch cleaner or a wire brush and reconnect it all?
I have a wierd intermittent starting problem with my 172.
Sometimes, when I try to start the car the engine turns over once and then everything dies (like the battery is totally dead) - all the lights on the dash go off (sometimes the speedo jumps up to about 40mph!). I then try again...
Just for a bit of a conclusion to this, I took it to the local Renault Minute. They took the brakes to bits, said there was nothing wrong with the discs or pads, cleaned it all up, greased the calipers (or something like that), charged me £50 for an hours labour and the problem seems to be fixed :)
Ugh. I know you are right, but last time I jacked up the car I bent the front jacking point and now I'm wary of bending it more, or it breaking while its on the the jack and ending up with a nasty hole in my car! :( (Or worse I guess, ending up with a car on my head!)
I'll probably have a...
^ Err. It's definitely not normal! It never used to do it and it only does it on one wheel.
I'll try the reverse back thing next time I go out - would the clunck be obvious? I always reverse into my drive and I've never noticed anything, but I wouldn't be listening for it particularly.
I can hear a regular ticking noise from the front drivers side wheel once I've used a brakes a few times - like something is catching or rubbing. The frequency of the ticking varies with speed and if I gently apply the brakes the noise stops until I release the brakes then it starts again.
It...
I've got VB6 experience too. Moved on abit now to mainly C#. But ask away! I'm sure someone will be able to answer whatever question you have looking at the replies above.
...what do you guys (and gals) think?
Out for a bit of a Sunday morning blast, pulled into a car park and heard that "tap-tap-tap" noise you get when you have a stone in your tyre. Thought I'd hop out and take a look and found this little beauty stuck in my tyre
I was in two minds...
I'll be interested to hear how it goes too. I've been thinking about building one on and off for a few years, but never quite got it done. My main concern would be getting a nice quiet one for the living room, but that seems quite tricky without spending a fortune...
Someone posted a similar thread on here a week or so ago, and someone else (wow could I be more vague!?) suggested that it might be a gas escaping from the exhaust system somewhere around the CAT.
Mine does this after about 6500rpm but only when I've got my foot down. If I hold stead at those...
Re: Exhaust just feel off
Same happened to me - fine one day, blowing the next, fell off the next (on the way to get it replaced!!)
You can buy just the back box (I did).
Personally, I'd be phoning up the place I bought it from (assuming it was a garage and not private sale) and asking them...
I had a similar thing. Took it into one (Renault) garage - was told rear shocks were knackered, but not covered under warranty as over 2 years old - I'd only bought it a few months before from a different (Renault) garage so phoned them up and thay agreed to look at it - drove down to Bath...
Not looked into Garmin so I can't comment on that , but I've got the Snooper Indago - very nice little unit. Had a Road Angel Navigator before that which was pretty rubbish.
Now I no less than nothing about after market exhuasts, but I'd always assumed that "stealth" meant you didn't have huge drain-pipe-sized thing sticking out the back of your car so it looked like you have a "normal" exhaust until you move off / boot it, then it roars loudly and everyone looks...
I got mine changed under warranty. Definitely a few others on here have.
The material (leather?) around the thumb grips kind of went all sticky and peeled away on mine.
Renault changed it with no arguments.
1) Buy a wireless router that allows you to attach a usb printer - there are some available if you look around
2) You'd have to have an always-on server-pc with the printer attached to that and the PC connected to the router.
I think my local dealers will also pickup / dropoff at your workplace, but I've never used that service as there is a nice stretch of dual carriage way between the dealer and work and I don't like the idea of them ragging my car down it!
Oil / grease the boot lid hinges.
Check your centre seatbelt is properly magnet-ed onto it's fastening in the ceiling (unless you have it connected up for use of course!)
Can't you just tell a lot of people have spent a lost of time looking for boot rattles!
I think it might also depend on what they are doing? But don't quote me on that.
My local dealer usually gives me a lift to and from work when they have my car for the day - you could always try asking for that if you don't need your car during the day.
My 172 does this after about 6500 rpm - I've been wondering if I should do something about it! (It's actually quite a handy audible "time to change gear" warning noise ;) )
Now someone has said it might be the exhaust that makes sense to me as I think it must have started after I had the rear...
My 172 has been getting a bit like this recently too.
I've tried the "bounce" test where you are supposed to bounce each corner and see how it settles but to me it never seems to move very much at all. :(
I've been thinking about taking it into the garage and asking them to check over all the...
