182 Suspension/Shock advice...

Anyone got any tips for checking the suspension/shocks for faults? or what to look out for?

I've noticed in the last couple of weeks that the suspension seems quite harsh.. If I turn tight into a roundabout and clip a pot hole or drain the suspension bangs, or even if I go over some cats eyes I can feel the shock all through the car..

Also its fish-tailing really easy, if you wiggle (lol) the steering it feels like your on jelly.. (just off to check the tyre pressures)

Any suggestions?

Cheers

At the front yep there the bit the spring sites over.
At the back there seperate bits to the spring you'll see them when you look under the back of the car they accach from the suspension arm to the top of the wheel arch area.

My 172 has been getting a bit like this recently too.

I've tried the "bounce" test where you are supposed to bounce each corner and see how it settles but to me it never seems to move very much at all. :(

I've been thinking about taking it into the garage and asking them to check over all the suspension, but I don't want to sound like a total muppet asking for them "to, er, could your, er, kind of, er, check stuff. Dunno whats wrong just summat, err, how much for that mate?"
