Iv got a clicking noise from my engine seems to come from the head, its got slowly worse now it sounds kinda like an old diesel. my old man thinks its my cam hitting the valves. has anyone got any idears? i can get a sound clip of it, if need be? My engine is a 1.2 8v Mpi on mk2 phase 1 btw

I'll get it up to 90 then. but spending loads, budjet ant a problem but it ant really ant wort it for a 1.2 if i takes that much lets face it. I'll go with 90, find the parts i need for that then ill have to get something like a spitfire and start restoreing that :) no transverse engine or half...

I take it its not possible to get 90-100bhp out of it then?

honestly havent started to look at manifolds yet, im well confused now both from posts and from just taking off my currunt air box lol. My plans for the car wur get it up to 90-100bhp (was told i cud do this) by changeing the manifold, air filter, exhaust and chip it. thort ied start with the...

what so im not gonna get power at all from any filter/induction kit?

shame about the sound but my exhaust and manifold will hopefully make up for that, ITG panel filter it is then, if they do one for my engine. god knows how its fitted tho iv got wires commin out of my air in take.

panels gonna give better results then? will it be as loud tho? what make panel filter wud u go for? maxogen? dunno if one fitts my car god knows how there fitted :S

iv got a mk2 ph 1 1.2 and the gearbox has just f**ked, aprently its the selectors (parkers told me this) and they qwoted me 820 qwid to referb it, aprently thats what needs doin. anyone got any views on this?

lets drop the 200bhp for a second, are all the parts the same as the 1.6 with the 1.2?

the biggest factor with the 172 engine is everything needs changeing, are the parts from the 1.6 the same as the 1.2 ie drive shafts fuel pumps and so on?

i wudunt tell me insurance company about the modds :quiet:

unless its possible to do what i intend'ed to do in the first place, but instead of a 172 engine maby a 1.6 and tune that? swap the engine ecu and gearbox for standard 1.6 parts
