    172 cup ph2 aux belt

Finally getting round to doing this myself this week. I have the workshop manual - Its my first time doing any sort of belt so I just want to confirm - first turn alternator to slacken belt, loosen BOTH alternator mounting bolts (or just the one underneath nut 1?), then turn nut 1 as...

    Yet another 172 Cup project...

Fatty induction fitted today as well as pulling out the acoustic valve. Still awaiting delivery for another alloy joiner to go between the original bend and the new silicon one. Currently using a slightly larger (76mm) piece of silicon. Can't really tell much of a difference performance wise...

The Fatty's KTEC alternative induction setup that works just as well!

So my 70mm hose and 70mm filter are matching each other up and theres no chance one is going inside the other to clamp up... Am i being stupid or is the hose supposed to be a bit bigger than 70mm?

Nah mate, I'm over in Emersons Green and it's just a track car so don't really use it much unless I take it out for a blast. Normally out towards Combe or the Black Mountains though. Yeh Clubsports. I've gone through so many different seats over the years and my favourite were always Cobra...

    Yet another 172 Cup project...

No there was hardly any sound proofing being a cup. I was nicely surprised compared to the FFs. A bit of tar on the roof and inside the rear quarters which you can see in the photos.

Not made much progress on this lately other than giving it a full service and new windscreen wash pump... Now weighing up Roll cage options and probably going for a Safety Devices Rear Cage for now. Anyone have any better ideas?

    145k Service! Few guides please

I'm being dumb.... Anyone point me in the direction of a small torque wrench for the plugs? Mines huge and starts at 28nm. Also with regards to Aux belt, the workshop manual seems to suggest doing it through wheel arch. Anyone confirm? (Lazy)

    145k Service! Few guides please

Hi all, So my 172 cup is about to hit 145k miles... I'm doing the usual oil and filters, also plugs and aux belt. I know its easy on a cup but does anyone have a guide for the aux belt? Also reading that fuel filter is needed at 150k miles but not easy to do yourself?

Does anyone elses car do this (revving when creeping along)

Mine does this... I was thinking a Vacuum Leak of some sort as i get some light seepage from the rocker cover bolts, however, thinking about it, Carbon canister is a good shout. I knocked mine when making brake cooling ducts and it make all sorts of funny noises now!

    Airbag removal with Buckets/Harnesses

Maybe a stupid question but thought I'd double check... My cup has no side airbags and the drivers has gone when I fitted the new steering wheel so should I be removing the passenger side airbag too? I've currently got it switched off anyway using the door handle switch...

    Eibach Camber bolt washer issue

Hi all Just been fitting some new camber bolts. One went on fine but the other looks like the tab on the washer hasn't been manufactured correctly as it won't actually fit into the shock bolt hole. My question is do I actually need them? Can I just take the one off the other side or do I need...
