Re: ABS, ESP and Service dash lights on ... speedo and cruise work fine, no fault cod
Sounds like a deal :D
It is a cheap reader but has worked well on my car and others, it read an emissions fault from my lambda sensor previously but nothing for this ABS fault has come up :S hmmm.
I will...
Re: ABS, ESP and Service dash lights on ... speedo and cruise work fine, no fault cod
Thanks for your reply man,
Where is that sensor located and how could I check it?
Like I said I had no fault codes come up :(
Cheers, Donut.
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone might be able to suggest a solution to a problem I've got with my 182.
The ABS, ESP and service lights are permanently on and my ABS and ESP do not appear to work.
I have adjusted and replaced the brake pedal switch and I have also run a fault code check...
Alright Gents,
Quick question, blown the seal on the rear right shock on my non cup 182 and need to replace them.
It's fitted with Eibach Sportlines at the moment and I'm wondering if there would be any benefits to fitting rear cup shocks over the standard items?
The eventual aim is to...
Yeah, I imagine they're the countersunk screws or something.
However I've always had good experiences of them for parts for my old panzer-wagons and also for the 182, they do tend to have muppets on the phones but generally I've found them pretty good.
Certainly better than some of the...
I know you get what you pay for and all that but there are some ridiculously cheap front discs on euro car parts' website at the moment for a 2005 182.
£3.56 per disk??
There was a chap on ebay selling loads of abs rings for various cars, he seemed to know his stuff when quoting me on a pair. They were £9.99 each.
I heated my old rings up and gently knocked them off the old discs and then refitted them to the new discs whilst still warm. Easy peasy.

If you can find a decent garage to fit them you shouldn't break £200 for the lot.
This is what i run and as I said, they feel great.
I'm running 195's now and I haven't really noticed any difference other than slightly lighter steering at low/parking speeds and the cost.
Highly recommended if you're on a budget like me.
The car looked better on 205 pe2's mind you, plus the alloys were better protected.
I'm looking to get a new exhaust soon and after a bit of searching and reading up I have set my sights on the scorpion system.
Decent price, reasonable quality and looks reasonably standard (and according to various owners isn't too loud)
Changing a decat at mot time is about a twenty minute...
Yeah, surely it must be quite an expense to renault to do it in the first place, why?
What else is different? brakes, calipers? wishbones? TRE's?
Laters, Donut.
Mmmmmm.
It still begs the question why Renault would go to the trouble.
What else is different in the front suspension and steering or is it all the same? I'm just slightly bemused by it all.
Cheers,
Donut.
Hello all,
I was just wondering is someone can clear something up for me, I've had a little search and can't quite find out what I want.
Basically, I know that standard 182 and 182 cup (or cup packed) clio sport's have different damper bolt spacing and presumably different hubs. Why exactly is...
If it ain't rubbing you're not low enough :D
225/40's also fit quite happily (on paper at least)
I have found the same as tompoms, that 195's run slight better on the motorway, also their slightly smaller diameter reduces my speedo inaccuracy. Plus they're significantly cheaper.
True, when i spoke to a friend of mine with a WRX/EVO fetish about AST's he screwed his face up and recommended that I go for H&R/Bilsteins instead because of reliability issues with the ASTs.
The advantage is like Dan R said is that they have support setup unlike many of the others.
Hispecs are appalling don't bother wasting your money. The quality is terrible by comparison to OEM calipers. If you really want 4 pots make your own from a good OE setup i.e clio 197, fiat coupe turbo etc.
You will always have problems fitting them under the usual clio wheels because of the...
I wouldn't bother.
I've had 17 cars and done 100,000's of miles and never got a proper flat. Couple of slow punctures but that is all (and finding a big flap of rubber hanging off an old saab 9-3 tyre after v-maxing it for about 15 minutes :S)
I've had the 182 for a year now and as long as...
I got the full set of mounts from K-tec for about £120. inc P&P i think.
Got the powerflex dogbone bushes off ebay for £35 inc P&P
For the uprated K-tec ones (currently on deal I think) plus the standard lower GB mount and Ebay dogbone you'd be looking at just over two hundred. Not crazy money...
No worries. Let us know how you get on, I'll be fitting mine tommorow and posting up a picture of the horrendous crack in one of the old discs. Honestly it's terrifying :S
In a bit, Donut.
Mine was doing exactly the same as yours, I've just replaced all the engine mounts with standard renault items and replaced the Dogbone with a polybush kit.
MASSIVE improvement.
Don't just do the dogbone, it'll find the next knackered mount in the group and eat that and then onto the next.
I...
The front of the battery fits under the lip at the front edge, and the rear bracket with the 13mm/Torx bolt into it clamps the rear bottom front edge of the battery.
Could be the wrong size, do you have photos?
Laters, D.
I just bought some new rear discs and bearings off ebay, cheap and cheerful at £80 including nextday p&p.
Second place price wise was Euro Car parts at £80 + VAT for the lot.
I was going to do the work myself, it is only about an hours labour (apart from the ABS rings) simple stuff tho, any...
