if both sides are on jackstands, then yes, both wheels should spin. If only the drivers side is not spinning, its not a knackered box, its a knachered driveshaft.
Try the old driveshaft with the knackered boots. You may have bough an 1.* shaft by mistake which isnt the right lenght and it...
Chip: I understand it is a great quality product, but the manifold is only available sencond hand nowadays! Also, I work in the automotive industry (not motorsports unfortunately), and you'd be surprised at how cheap things can be built. The rs2 inlet is a sort of artisan's work (labor is most...
Reason Im asking is that Ive just came across this thing on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/nissan-sr20-intake-manifold-for-sunny-pulsar-gti-r-/271351758885?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f2dd34025&vxp=mtr#ht_1143wt_1179
I know it's for the SR20 engine, but if you look closely...
The diferential makes a difference on how the power reaches the wheels, but it doesnt play a role on the atcual power values.
So what exactly is your airfilter and exhaust setup? and what power was your racer putting out before the mods??
I figured the sequential box played a major role in how the car performed. Anyway, anyone ever put a race car on the rollers to se exactly how much power it put out?
I was wondering. Clio race cars (172/182) were supposed to put out 200 BHP with stock internals, correct? These were supposed to be the exact same internals of their current-day production cars.
So.. why do we struggle so much to get that extra 30 bhp on a regular production car?? Im sure...
I used some gray RTV on my rear mount. I figured silicone would be more flexible than urethane. I didnt remve the original "X" plastic thing, just emptied the whole RTV tube around it. I cleaned the mounth throughly before applying the silicone (dishwasher soap, carb cleaner, brush).
It's been...
The only thing this does is turn on your reverse lights (and read wiper during reverse). You can even just use a proper sized to blank it out (so it doesnt leak) while you get the sensor and you can still use the car.
Ill be damned!
As I started looking for the sound to record it, I ws greeted with a substantial oil pool near the dephaser solenoid. I took off the plenum, only to discover that the spark plug hole must have had around 15mm of oil in it. Took off the plug, and sure enough it was completely...
Well, it's not aux knocking. it sounds a lot like when a spark plug has worked itself loose and you hear that "clack clack clack" sound. Except it;s only under load. I checked the exhaust manifold for cracks but could not fin anything.
Also, I figured as revs go up oil pressure does too, so...
I have an awful clacking sound under acceleration, particulary when I floor it . The sound dissapears at around 4K revs. Odd thing is, I get this sound in 1st, second, and 3rd gear. So, after 2 hours of using the search button, I come to 2 possible conclusions:
1.- Dephaser.- I don't really...
Theres the CV joint boot, which is there alright. Then there's another smaller boot in what appears to be a metal can--that's the boot I'm missing. It's completely gone.
I recently jacked up my car, only to discover that the rubber boot that covers the aux bearing is missing. What the heck is that bearing for anyway? Can it be replaced, or is it new driveshaft time?
ok, just wanted to let you guys know. I had this issue with my clio where the revs would would be jumping from 1k to 2k constantly. The car would sometimes stick to 2k rpm on idle. Now and then, it would pop the pp120 MIL code and go into limp mode and emissions light would come on. The fault...
ok..each loom has an id tag with part number, date, etc. If you can provide the info from that tag I can get you the harness plan down to the lenght of each wire. let me know.
some ppl here have an 8k rev limiter, so im pretty sure the clio can handle the shift light. BTW, there was a service bulletin about the clio dropping valves but only after an engine rebuild. Clios have been extensively abused as rally and track cars, so im pretty sure that as long as you look...
Re: Mystery fault--electric fault light, ESP, MAP, TPS, and rev limiter.Help me ples
final update-- either the TDC or CTS cured the damn thing. I visually inspected the loom , there were no sings of trouble to be found. I didnt unplug the ecu as the problem was gone.
It's been 8 days, Ive...
Re: Mystery fault--electric fault light, ESP, MAP, TPS, and rev limiter.Help me ples
Ok, so I pickerd up the car from the dealer. I did authorize them to change the TDC + loom (the space felt too tight for me). To my freaking surprise, the car is running as smooth as ever, the "early limiter"...
Re: Mystery fault--electric fault light, ESP, MAP, TPS, and rev limiter.Help me ples
so basically it does sound MAP related? If I unplug the MAP will this get rid of the limiter? (it should be running with a fixed value, no imput from sensor , so if its map or map wiring related it should be...
Re: Mystery fault--electric fault light, ESP, MAP, TPS, and rev limiter.Help me ples
im pretty sure not. i didnt at least. How would I go about this? I have a fluke 87III
