a possible easy fix to throttle sticking on Ph1

That idea came to me after fixing a clutch cable problem on my KTM 640. every time I pulled the clutch the cable moved under the stress and snapped off the clutch handle assembly. Anyway, the fix was a simple restraint using a piece of rubber tube and a zip-tie keeping the cable away from the...

Teaser - possible fix of the PH1 sticking throttle problem

my solution is far less "aggressive" in terms of messing with the TB movement itself. its more of a restriction than anything else.

Teaser - possible fix of the PH1 sticking throttle problem

live update: done a testing session of slow city driving trying whatever i can to put the throttle on its "normal" sticking position. so far so good and no sticking what so ever! in addition, throttle response in fine adjustments and pulling from stop is improved too!

Teaser - possible fix of the PH1 sticking throttle problem

on my LHD the cable is too short for re-routing but the idea tackles the problem from the same angle. I fix that my fix will be as affective on RHD as well as LHD.

Teaser - possible fix of the PH1 sticking throttle problem

lets just say it includes some zip ties, tubes and a pair of scissors. IT IS a valid solution that had worked on a clutch cable problem I had on my KTM 640 SM. just took the fix concept and applied it to the Clio. i'll give you all the details soon I promise. just want to make sure it works first.

Teaser - possible fix of the PH1 sticking throttle problem

I've been having the common problem of the throttle occasionally sticking. usually happens during very slow traffic when just feathering the throttle. obviously a new cable and a cleaned+lubed TB helps but unfortunately doesn't eliminate it completely. at the moment I'm in testing of my...

throttle cable adjustment on a PH1

just changed my cable and wondered whether theres a certain way of adjusting the cable? I just checked that in full throttle the butterfly is wide open and vice versa. tho I noticed section just before the TB end of the cable where theres a small yellow bit that goes in and out(some sort of...

how often do you "heel and toe"?

basically "blipping" the gas pedal with your heel whilst breaking with the ball of your foot. its used to match the engine revs to the lower gear you're changing in to.

    expiry date on shampoo?

just found a Turtle Wax car shampoo+wax thats been lying in my garage for a good 6-7 years.(could be more, can't really remember) it's never been used before. wanted to know if these things loose their quality after some time? and could it actually damage the paint instead of just cleaning?

    O/E vs Valeo clutch

have you ever seen at least one of each, new out of the box, to compare? or just saying 'cause thats common knowledge?

    O/E vs Valeo clutch

I was quite sure that these two are the same except the Valeo is cheaper to buy since no "Renault" on the box. But the other day my mechanic managed to confuse me saying there's actually a difference between the two. Saying the O/E part has better durability and is slightly reinforced compared...

    Koni Adjustables ?

forgot to mention i'm on stock springs. my bad.(Eibach sport lines to be purchased soon) but anyways the shocks seem to handle rough surfaces pretty well considering their sporty attitude. it's not exactly comfy, but not torture too. if you would like you can always adjust the shocks for a...

    thinking of front+rear srtuts

ok but how does the ride differ with/without a front strut? turn in quicker? less understeer? more predictable? less predictable? faster cornering? more/less steering feel? just trying to figure whether its a valid tune for a daily commuter
