Also when I brake the headlights come on??

Hi guys and girls, I have a mk2 Clio phase 1, which has now decided everytime I put my headlights on the brake lights stick on! Also noticed my sub now only works when headlights are on also! Anyone know what this could be?

i headed over to retro renault and spoke to chris h. he told me that the lambda sensor heater was at fault and i just need to tak it for a good hard drive.

ok. ive got a 1993 1.4 clio RT and everytime i start the car it will sit at normal revs for about 5 minutes.. then the revs drop, car shudders and goes back up to normal, and keeps doing it over and over again. Any ideas, ive already changed the TPS, ICV, Coilpack and Thermostat. ???

just looked on E-GAY and found an 1.8 RSI lump. but will that just fit straight in? and could i use the JB1 gearbox with it? im assuming i will need the loom and ECU too?

ok what works involved in fitting a willy or megane lump in it? i only took interest to a r5GTT engine because its only a 1.4 and a turbo.

As above... will a renault 5 GTT fit straight into my mk1 1.4RT clio? will i need the loom and ECU off the GTT aswell? And last but not least, will the JB1 gearbox fit straight to it?

i went out this morning and tried to start it and now the NEW carb is over-fuelling. the same problem the last one had. so whats causing it? when i UNPLUG the red connector to the single point injector (so no fuel goes down the throttle body) the ca will start and idle fine untill it runs out...

ok i changed the throttle position sensor and still no bloody joy!!! :@ the car is seriously beginning to piss me off. now the NEW carb i put in is over fuelling too - the same as the one i took off. whats causing this?

no mate it doesnt idle at all and now it wont start - almost as if theres no spark. I bought new spark plugs so it cant be them. Which makes me think its a timing fault? which leads me to believe the ECU may be at fault?? could that be right??

possible fuse?? loose connection?? sound more like a fuse if the passenger side headlight and number plates are not working too! just a guess... im no mechanic!

Ok... big thanks to rockerz who came down to see the car! new spark plugs and a few tweeks here and there, but yet still same problem. Been told it may be the ECU :'( which leaves the dilemma of breaking it or sticking a new lump in..

went out today and had a play about wiht the carb set up and throttle body. had a thought, strip it all back down and start again. So started car, same problem, so began stripping it down, found a bit of petrol seeping through the gasket. the one where the throttle body meets the inlet manifold...

the only way i can get it running is by holding the accelrator down whilst turning the key otherwise it wont start. But when i do get it running yes it does rev freely but if i hold the pedal and get it to stay around 12 on the rev gauge it just looses power and dies, even when i put my foot...
