Picked up my 182 last Saturday - had forgotten just how much I was missing. All the looks, all the mugs trying their luck. Wonderful!
Anyway, the silver dash inserts and the glove box cover are scuffed - any ideas how much replacements would cost and if they are easy to fit yourself?
Cheers...
I am extremely careful when parking my motor although I have learnt that there is always someone who doesnt care. All you can do is take as many precautions yourself and the rest is down to luck. I havent been "doored" for about 5 years or so now - probably will do now I have mentioned it.
2-1 to be worried! Hopefully I am just lucky although I have a nasty feeling that I will turn up and something will not be done or there will be a fualt with it.
The salesman was sweet as a bun so hopefully it will be a good job - fingers crossed.
Renault Bodyshop are doing some work on my drivers side door before I collect the 182 on Saturday as some bright spark has opened it onto a wall and there in literally no paint on the edge over about 6/7 inches.
Should I be worried about the quailty of the repair??
Have to agree, swallow the mileage but the bonnet is the key issue here. If they cant repair it satsfactorily then reject it.
Whilst it is disappointing to be messed about it is better in the long run than taking a car you are not 100% happy with.
If it is new then it should be mint...
My Old Man has an Avensis T-Spirit and there is forever something niggly problem with it such as the door pillar covering hanging our or the seatbelt holder not releasing until 3 or 4 attempts at doing so.
Not a fan of Toyota build quality so the Renault for me.
After being forced and heartbroken to chop in my 172 last August for a Diesel Megane for commuting purposes, I am picking up my Arctic Blue 182 this coming Saturday - only 4 days, 19 hours and 46 minutes to go!
Right, I havent posted on here for about a year () as did have a 172 but had to p/x it for Megane 1.5Dci as I was moving house. Was too painful after that!
Now I have a pay rise and am in the mood I want to get a 182 so was wondering how the 182 owners on here find them? Is there any...
MkII 172 registered March this year on an "03" plate. 4,300 miles, no mods at all - completely standard Iceberg 172. Absolutely mint condition, you will not find a mark on this car - I guarantee. Has been driven well and I have not ripped the arse out if it!
Any ideas???
Thanks mate, will have to check it out. May want to get a better quality wax for when the winter sets in - you know how it is with all that salt on the roads and the mess it causes.
Bought some Turtle Wax Colour Magic polish on Friday and spent 3 hours polishing that afternoon. Below is the result!
Anyone else use it?

Cheers mate, may stick with the 16" then as not sure I can afford a grand right now, not with the football season just around the corner!
172nightrider - car is fully standard at the moment, no mods at all. Do you reckon better to change the springs??
I reckon there must be hundreds about too but I generally tend to see very few 172s, 16 Valvers depsite driving from Kent to Maidenhead every day!
Money well spent Geordiepaul - looks top that does!At risk of sounding naive/ignorant etc, etc, doesnt the Cup have 16" alloys as standard??? I...
Whats the verdict on this, has anyone seen it at all??
Reason I ask is as have rather carelessly scuffed my 2 near-side alloys on a high kerb and wondered what Cup alloys would look like on a Silver Mark II 172.
Hello,
I am new to this forum and only decided to register today as I have a question that I need some help on. I have a Mk 2 172 bought back in March and need to top the oil up. Have done 3,500 miles - I imagine it is normal to need oil after this amount of miles??? Has anyone any...
