I don't think it's money laundering tbh, he came and bought a 182 Trophy front end off me and was also interested in taking the shell, but didn't.
He then offered the front end to a customer of mine who bought the Trophy shell and he'd doubled the price!
He boasted how amazed they were at what...
You could always have the timing checked by a specialist, providing the parts are recently new, I would have thought you'll be fine just having the timing checked.
Someone else could confirm, but if the timing is out, surely any specialist will be able to time it back up if the belt kit is new...
I think it will depend on the size of backbox, if you've got to raise it really high to hide it, there's potential for the bend that goes over the rear beam to foul the underside of the car.
It's worth checking, before you lop off the tailpipe and hike the backbox up!
100% Yes.
They are simply held in with screws, so you just have to pull out the plastic horn ring and unbolt the CC button and put them on your newly trimmed wheel.
The pic of the steering wheel doesn't do it justice. I wasn't overly keen tbh, but after seeing it in the flesh yesterday, I'm totally won over.
Really nice car, with some subtle/quality mods.
Went from my Ph2 172 to a supercharged 182 and that only lasted a few months, then bought a TVR Tuscan and love it!
Would like another 172 or 182, but can't justify 3 cars, plus lack of time would see it sat doing nothing 😧
Would really like this gone ASAP, any serious offers will be considered, but please state when you're able to collect.
Located in Uxbridge UB82JP.
It's currently on wheels, but they are not included, so buyer would have to bring their own, I still have the rear bumper, both front wings and side...
Looks great fun, love the colour and everything.... 150bhp in something that weights sod all = :tongueout:
I've always really liked the shape of the metro, probably something to do with the Mighty Metro Scaletrix set I had as a kid.
I don't think either will "hold their value" tbh, unless you buy it for less than the current going rate.
Neither are going to be going up in value any time soon, so unless you plan on holding onto it for ages, I'd go on preference and condition.
Me personally, I'd opt for a Trophy, but I...
I don't think you'll get those sort of lows from Eibachs.
Tbh, any coilover that is wound down really low, is gonna handle rubbish (not be comfortable) imo.
I've driven a fair few setups and if your budget allows, I'd say go for Koni shocks and Eibachs sportline springs.
By far my favourite setup for a road car, but more than capable when you're ready to play
If you have to have coilovers, I'd agree with Budgie, B14's all day long.
I'll try a brush and some apc, I'd be worried that a toothpick might lift it at the edges though.
Might sound daft, but what sort of brush would you suggest, one of those small ones for doing wheels from halfords, or something softer?
Can anyone suggest a product or technique to help remove the dirt around the edge of the film on my car?
I didn't want to go too hard whilst cleaning it yesterday, but I'd like opinions on how best to clean/remove the dirt from the edge, as it just highlight the film's there and obviously looks...
Hi Woody,
The Xenons are a straight swap, they bolt on the same and the wiring is also the same.
You just need a set of Xenons, complete with ballast, bulbs and ignitors and you're good to go.
Well, you're either using me as an example of how a potential thief/scumbag would conduct themselves or that I may have something to hide by not showing the number plates!... but no, course it's not a dig. Flol
The biggest flaw in your suggestion, is that you're treating everyone as guilty...
Seems like a lot of risk, for not a very big reward. Would it be worth decent money abroad? Surely it'd be cheap enough to import if you really wanted one.
Hardly a foolproof plan, they'd just use a different reg surely!
I get your point, but sellers providing proof of ownership and buyers doing a HPi check is long!
Definitely not the same car, I've met the trader who's selling that Trophy on eBay, he came and bought the rear seats off me weeks ago and told me the whole story, regarding buying it from ASM or something and having new keys done, etc.
