Have just received my V5 & likewise mine also shows engine no: NK (Mines also an import). There are some numbers embossed in the lower half of the engine block sort of to the upper right area to the oil dipstick but have no idea whether this is the engine number or not. There is also a code...
Spookily enough I was just literally about to post the same problem. I have covered just over 1K & if you boot it in 2nd it sticks until the revs drop!!! I hope it loosens up else yet another trip to the dealer!!

If Renault UK were advised & the garage that supplied your motor is a franchised Renault garage they would be well in the sh*t. Despite EU legislation the manufacturers still hold the cards & would probably threaten the garage with removal of their franchise.
