Going with a friend to look at a 54 plate 1.2 dynamique, 36000 miles. I'm sure I saw something on here before but can't find it. What am I looking out for? Or can someone give me a link where this has been discussed before. Thank you
For about a week now, occasionally the radio will suddenly start fizzing really loud, sometimes cuttting out completely. Just got in the car after work, turned the radio on, and its asking for the code?
Could I have a loose connection on the back somwhere, like the radio has acted like the...
Im confused about pulling the engine forward like people have done on here in the past. Found a few posts that says the whole engine moves a good inch forward? I have undone the four nuts, tried to move the engine, doesnt go anywhere, forwards or back.
Is this as far forward as it goes, or am I...
"One of them customers" - excuse me? Oh you mean one of those customers that takes the car back because it has problems. Pretty sure that is what everyone else would do in the same circumstance. Are you "One of those customers" that just accepts there are problems and then pays s**t loads to get...
I know this stuff has been posted on here before so forgive me but I can't seem to find the info I'm looking for...
Accelerating in first and towards the higher revs in second gear, there is a kind of juddering noise/something that sounds like the wheels are loosing traction and bouncing about...
Nah I bought I car without seeing how it drove... :P
...of course I did, no oil leaks that I could see and there was no thumping from engine when I put my foot down. Researched about stuff like this so made sure it wasn't like that. It only started a few days ago and gradually got worse.
Sorry if this is now boring you but it's getting to the point of ridiculous...
I now have the famous problem of juddering/thumping etc whatever you want to call it, when accelerating hard in first and sometimes in second gear..
I want my money back.
Could someone please point me in the...
Well the guy that did the work on the car had worked for Renault for 30+ years, so I'm assuming that he knows what he's doing... that does give me SOME reassurance???
Can someone point me in the right direction for a new sump please?? thanksabunch
wow thanks for that, I will be doing this as of tomorrow morning :D
They did reassure me that it would be fine when I was there so can I use that or should I call them anyway?
Hmm yeah good point, too late though now isn't it? They repaired it whilst I went to the coffee shop and had a coffee so didn't really have a chance to ask for a new sump... I don't mind as long as I get a sump soon and replace it
nah I got no receipt... didnt think it was necessary seeing as I didnt pay anything for it etc....? I will buy a sump anyway and get it replaced just for piece of mind, but for now it will do....
haha no they are my shoes, me n the gf were enjoying the sun :)
Took it back, it had a hairline crack on the sump, been fixed with some liquid metal stuff? anyway, had a good hour run on the way home and now there is no oil leaking :D yay! Im happy now haha
Some pics....
Lol as nice as that would be, I doubt the garage would be like, oh yeah ok then Ill pay it now..
So I lifted the car up and took off the tray, there is oil all hanging off the sump, im sure they would have cleaned all that up when it was 'fixed' before... taking it up to them this lunch.
And...
So he told me to bring it up tomorrow, said they ran it for 30 mins to make sure there were definitely no leaks... could it possibly be residue left in the tray from where it was leaking before? Isnt there like spongy stuff in there that absorbs the oil?
how can I tell if they fitted the wrong seals?
Im going to call them to tell them there is still a leak, this will be the second and last time I give them the chance to fix it, then I will be asking for my money back. I really like the car which is a shame
im not sure about the oil leaking from the gearbox, will be taking it to my mates garage this morning so he can get it up on the ramp and have a look... Im really pissed off.
Am I entitled to get my money back now?
So have done a search on here and cant seem to find anything...
Just noticed something tonight, decided to give the car a bit of a run on the way home tonight... noticed that when the revs were nearing the limit, a green light on the bottom right of the dash popped up... didnt want to leave...
So the garage took it back, had the engine in pieces to replace two seals on the cam shaft.... been told it is now 'as dry as a bone'....
went straight back to work after picking the car up... reverse after I finish, and there is a small patch of oil on the floor!
Had the car sitting at work...
