my mk1 172 speedo goes dead at times, i reckon it's the sensor under the car, near the dog bone mount, that needs replacement? how much is the sensor and what's the part number?

No one seems to rave abt the KW v2 here, wonder why? i intend to get some coilovers that is track bias. anyone had or sat in a ride with KW v2, how's the feel? i know the H&R is great on road and B14 is on track. Would also like to know where KW stands amongst these 2.
Received a reply from Bilstein saying that my mk1 172 is a variant model because my engine no. states F4RD730C010172. Bilstein has a B14 PSS for engine numbers without a 'D' behind the F4R, such as F4R 730xxxxx. Could they be mistaken? I thought the mk1 172 and mk2 172 are of the same chasis...
was cruising at about 100km/hr when the speedometer suddenly jus died off, everything else is running fine. came to a stop, turned off ignition and cranked it up again, moved off and the speedometer remains dead. can anyone pls diagnose what's wrong? cant be my ecu right? going to track...

i have a cda, custom decat and centre pipe (2.25") with Superprint street backbox. Am about to order the group n ecu. However, was wondering if this ecu will be good enough for my future mods of a modified inlet manifold and cams. Any advise is greatly appreciated!

jus did my timing belt abt 9mths ago. of late, i observed that my revs remain at abt 1,500rpm whenever i come to a halt at a junction. a slight blip of the throttle will then result the revs to fall back to its usual 800rpm. anyone knows what's wrong with the car? timing belt? valves or...

i figured the ride's handling should not be affected, despite the reduction in 1/2 inch for wheel width since the wheel will be 1 inch...

anyone had one in their 172? those i know fitted it claimed that torque improvement is very noticeable. however, since the engine vibration is directed outwards, i have seen the dashboard of an ignis sport shake like hell.... i know the 172 rattles so am a little apprehensive abt it.
bilstein + eibach pro a better combi than koni + eibach pro? anyone tried bilstein dampers b4, whats the ride like? btw, went thru their site and the part number is HE5-8775 for B12 PSS, i think.

I understand that the mk1 172 cat has 2 pipes compared to jus 1 on the newer models. Is it a better cat compared to the new models and those aftermarket ones?
Am thinking of doing a replacment filter with the HP pipe thingy and Supersprint exhaust. Would I be running lean with the said mods? Is there a need for chipping?
Which drop-in filters are good for the mk 1 Clio 172? Is the gain from using an induction kit with heat shield, instead of replacement filter, negligible? If so, may not be justifiable for the higher cost heh!
When I lock my steering wheel at slow speed during parking, the steering wheel clonks/ vibrates. Can anyone diagnose my prob? Is the drive shaft valeo the rubber seal thingy? Cos I just had that replaced.

A mechanic showed me a set of springs (was told that it is from Holland and Koni uses them!) which he fixed up on a few clio 1.4rt. Was told that the springs could be used for my 172. Any way to verify his claim cos I am interested in letting him do the job.

At times during cold-start, my bella seem to be chorking a little... would need a slight rev to clear her throat. Was told that the flywheel could be the cause for the difficult cold-start. Anyone knows what exactly is this flywheel thingy, ie what is it for and why the need to clean it...
