Escort Cosworth

For sure!

Ive just bought a BMW 323 convertible for about that price (on a P reg)

I would of bought my uncles 450bhp cosworth from him, had the insurance not been so f**king high! They wanted over £2k for a standard cossie, let alone a tuned one, and i wasnt prepared to pay that much for it. So i went for the beemer, but its all good as i still get to drive the cossie, and sh*t is it quick.

Id like to see anyone get a decent Escort Cosworth for less than 10k..

Id be looking at spending a few more thousand and getting an Impreza WRX STi myself.. or a P1.

I can have that one ^^^^^^^^^^^^ for £8k

Fair enought that is family rates, but still. And although the paintwork is a little chipped and scuffed (nothing a good polish with a PC wont fix) the rest of the car is mint, the leather still looks good, and seeing as most of the engine bay has been replaced with uprated parts, there isnt any problems there. There are no rattles (like you get on a 1 year old clio), it passes MOTs with no worries, and it will easily do 170mph.

I cant believe that no-one has mentioned a S1 Lotus Elise yet. Surely at the top of any £10k sports car shopping list.

As a package of performance, practicality, economy and safety though - a 172/182 is hard to beat.

still say s4.... they are fast..... with a chip at least.

cheers for the idea of the S4.. I did look at that after u mentioned it... but there are a few probs... its not a smallish car and is a family 4 door car.. all S4s in my budget have very high mileage of around 100k, but agree...its very quick.

A Cup for 7k and then 3k for the insurance!
the dude already has a 172
plus any one thinking of paying 3k to insure a cup must be either mad, or loaded.
