Can I ask what lids you recommend?

I had a Schuberth which I loved, but bought an shoei lid, it’s noisey as f**k. I hate it! 😂

Hi mate,

I’ve always been an arai man. But I would suggest going to a shop and trying a load on and seeing which fits the best the top end of most top brands are usually good.

Oh and worth looking into a decent set of custom ear plugs.

For what my opinion is worth, spend as much as you can afford. For bike circuit stuff I use Rx7v. Race type lid might not be the best option for road stuff though, ofc.

Car stuff, again always used arai. Gp6 or now gp7

You’ll need a small expanding puller to get that bearing out mate and a slide hammer!

Didn’t get much done today.

Spent an age pissing around with the PMS shifter trying to get the bearings out. Given up, and will probs just order new assembly.

The bearings in mine are all completely shagged. Not sure how long they’ve been in but they’re all seized solid.

Got the oil and filter done though at least. So one thing ticked off the list.
Second time changing the oil and filter on this car, I suspect the person who designed the filter location wasn’t someone who’ expected to ever have to change one…..

Considered the lightweight one, but decided to stay stock.

Lightweight flywheel is ok but the revs do drop quicker on the downchanges, so your rev-matching has to be on point to get smooth shifts.

Unless you're not arsed and just bang it down the gears 😂

Yeah exactly. Good in a race car. Not so good in a road car that does track imo.
