0-100 for 182 cup

  Fiat Coupe 20v turbo

If a 182 can do 0-100 in 17.5 secs with full fuel tank and 2 passengers Ill eat my hat!

  MINI JCW

surely the figures dont lie, 17.5 in evo and 17 in autocar, i assumed they would do it with just the driver in the car and a small amount of fuel (i assume this is the same for all cars), what do you reckon the 182 will do it in then??

Whys that then? The 172 did 0-100 in that time in Autocar against the CTR!

I havent seen a 182 run quicker than 15s so far...whose is this super fast example? A 182 will not run that time standard!

Im not doubting that a 182 will do 17sec 0-100...its just there is NO WAY it would do that time with 2 passengers and a full tank of petrol. Thats around 210kgs on top of the kerb weight of 1060kg(?)!

how quick does a williams do it?
15s .....mid 15s usually with some being a bit quicker some a bit slower.....

  Clio v6

PERFORMANCE
0-100 kph / 0-62 mph 7.7 secs
Maximum speed 134 mph/215 kph

Never new a Williams was this fast :D

the williams requires 3 gear changes to get to 60 so people who estimate 0-100 based on the 0-60 time are stupid...

Why is it the Williams gets faster 1/4 times.... its proven! every drag meet i have been to the Williams cains 172s etc.

Williams power is good enough to take my car down the strip faster than a Clio V6!:D

Where have you got this from?

Try 15secs @ around 94mph.

I would agree with that Mitchy seems about right, and about 17ish to 100

In another issue of Evo that I got last summer they did a weird test with a range of cars from a 1.6 Focus as a control car all the way up the Caterham R500 and even a Porsche Cayenne.

Anyway they did a 0-100 test 2up and with a full tank but the catch was that the track was wet and it still did it in 18 or 19.

They were using one of those devices that they always use that measures G forces and all sorts. Cant remember the name of it now. Thought those types of devices (not neccessarily that exact same model though) are used to measure world records like that 0-100-0 thing...

Iain, Neil and chriss clios are modded and stripped down to the skin and running on petrol fumes.

I think theres a bit of a difference!! Not saying a clio is not capable of 14.1, i am saying it is not capable of 14.1 in standard trim!

I believe the time will be around 17-17.5secs!

LMAO I did the 14.1 when I was 15 stone 4 and have since come down to 11 st 2. I could run with full interior right now and still be lighter than back then easily. Mitchy I take it you have never felt the weight of the Cup bench? It weighs F.A!

Why is this important?

I mean when is knowing your car can do 0-100 in whatever time going to have any use? Bragging rights?

Its a clio, nobody understands.

The 182 cup has posted a faster 0-60 than the 172 cup iirc

6.3-60 in autocar last year

Anyways 17 secs sounds about right to me

LOL tell that to the M3 driver that couldnt keep up with me at the Ring and then came over in the car park, he wasnt gutted or anything, appreciative would be the best word. But then mine does 0-100 in the 11s. (Bragging ;))

Anyway, to get to the point, if the car does a quarter mile in 14-15 @95mph then 0-100 in 17 is about right. That extra 5mph takes more at 95 onwards than it does at any other time in an acceleration run.

Weighed the bits when I stripped the back of my Cup...

Rear Seat (lower) - 5kg

Rear Sear (upper) - 10kg

Seat Mount Bar - 3kg

Jack & toolkit - 4kg

Parcel shelf - 1.5kg

Boot Carpet - 2kg

Total = 25.5kg

Makes a whopping 4bhp/tonne difference, so basically fcuk all.

If it makes no difference, why spend 1/2 an hour ripping it out and an hour putting it back in?

It takes me literally 10 minutes.

Doesnt on the Cup as the rear seats are already lightened, theres no spare, etc... but on other cars it does add up to a decent amount of weight saving.
