Commercial GPS units output a fix once a second, survey grade output at least 5 per second. The ones used in the automotive industry for this very task output 20 *real non-interpolated* coordinates per second.
Accurate enough for what I want which is basically just a mess around, wouldn't be using it for measuring industry standard times for the reasons above.
I use Tempes GTi same as Bmh.01, as for accuracy my 0-10, 0-20, 0-30 times etc were not far off the figures obtained by Evo magazine when they measured a 182, they must use some pretty fancy kit then, my time were out probably because i have not done much 0-60 runs, my engine is as tight as a you know what and i did not get gear change perfect ie, the lever is still attached to car.
