02 - do you think I can get a better deal than this ??

Currently on anytime 200, been on it for a few years now, I get double everything for 6 months of the contract (12 months) so 400 mins & I think 200 texts - for £30 a month - I paid to upgrade to a se w800i last year.

Due to upgrade in week or so & want a Nokia N73
After haggling with the dude he said I can have 500 mins & 200 texts - for the whole of the contract - which will be £20 a month now :approve: still a 12 month contract too.

They won't take the upgrade fee for the phone off though:dapprove: - its £100 as I don't spent more than my price plan.

I think its a good deal, but ..
Do you think I can get better from them ??

Say you'll cancel when they ask why, you can get th phone cheaper if you sign up again..

If it's o2 online phone the retentions department, ask for your PAC code and say you're leaving for a better deal elsewhere. Doing this you should easily get 500 xnet anytime minutes with 500 texts for £25 p/m or less with a free N73.

It's the 02 shop I went to originally - then this numbers been ringing me up all week (never answer the phone to ppl I don't know - called it back & it was them)
I already told him that vodafone were offering better than what I was offered first off (which they were) he offered me more after that, i'll ask for my pac code & hope that they offer me if cheaper.

Is it definately o2 who have been phoning you and not some dodgy call centre who seem to call me at renewal time each year? (usually with a very strange number)

They usually say they are phoning on behalf of my network which is not true.

If it is the shop you bought it from then request the cancellations department number.

go on the new orange contract they look mint i just renewed mine bout 2 months ago which was a big mistake cause not gettin alf as good contract as i cud be. thats where i will be going next time unless they want to offer me a better deal for stayin on with this company.

hmm, not sure now the number is 0845 3307145 - I spoke to an answer machine message on saturday night & it said 02 something.
they called again today so I answered it, I asked for the dudes number (in case i wanted to take him up on the offer) & he said dial 202 on the phone & then quote this extension (he gave me a number)
so I guess they are from 02.
Having said that he was asian & there was loads of noise in the background.
Normally its quiet when I speak to them & the person's english.

02 are always a bit stingy with giving phones for free unless you spend a lot

i got 400 mins and 1000 texts for £30 a month when i called retension dept.

Got a free W810i the first day it came out which wasn't too bad

I threaten to leave Orange every year if I get any hassle come upgrade time.

Always get a new phone of my choice.

This year I got a free Nokia N80 and 550 anytime anynetwork mins, including unlimited calls to one Magic number and Unlimited texts to all numbers.

Someone on here pointed out the fact that o2 will 'share' the information they have on your whereabouts with other people! Basically tracking you! :S
