1.2 16v 0-80mph video

quick video i done of the clio 0-80mph, it hits the limiter in 2nd at 55 mph to give you a rough 0-60 time (i counted about 10 seconds?) since you cant see the speedo for the sun!

only mods are a custom made HKS pannel filter and the airbox has been modified for performance and also has a better cold air feed.

it also has no back seats, spare wheel or toolkit

55mph is ~ 50 on my GPS

Isn't it a bit... noisy, with no back seats? I could understand doing it to a 172 etc, but to a 1.2.. ?

Whatever floats your boat :)

road noise is a bit louder, exhaust sounds brilliant even although its standard you hear it popping when you take your foot off the accelerator.

and why cant you understand doing it to a 1.2? 1.2 has less torque than a 172 so stripping it makes a bigger difference

the best way to make a 1.2 16v fast is suspension, brakes, stripping and plenty miles of running in!

  Turbos.
I used to take the rear seats out of my 1.2 for Sunday afternoon drives, couldn't feel a difference performance wise but as you say, you hear the exhaust that little bit better!

Best way to make a 1.2 fast is to drop a 2.0 lump in it :D

Whats the point in that....then you have to uprate the brakes and suspension...

Just buy an RS

started watching it... but I didn't have half an hour spare to watch it hit 80mph, got to about 20mph and realised life's too short ;)

Mate, you must have known you were in for some stick when you post a 0-80 video with an invisible speedo! Just take the pish taking like a man:clown:

its nothing to do with the invisible speedo, you can clearly see the speedo pulling to 70mph and then me coming off the throttle at 80mph to see how fast (or how slow) it gets there, but also lets you hear the noise from my modded airbox (not lots of little holes drilled sucking in hot air before anyone starts that crap again)

^ as above nothing up with owning a 1.2 (they are faster than a 172 after all ;)) but its not a performance car so posting vids like that are a tad pointless, especially when u cant see the speedo.

right basically, my car has minor performance mods, in total its cost me £21 on engine mods, now when i had first got my car i couldnt find any speedo vids, now i thought this would be a good idea for anyone else whos just got a 1.2 whos thinking of modding it to compair it to there car

No one buys a 1.2 for the power though, if someone wants a fast car they will buy one, not spend £, which is wasted trying to make it quicker.

I agree, People only buy 1.2 for cheap insurance etc like me its my first car, but if I could afford the insurance on a 2.0 or sommet I'd defo get rid of my 1.2

Spending £21 on engine mods? You got receipts for that fella?!

Only jesting lad, when i had my 1.2 i used to tear around thinking it was a performance car. Soon released when i was promptly dispatched by a 206 gti180 that i needed something quicker.

look at it this way, i cant afford to buy or insure a faster car, ive spent £21 on giving it a noticeable power increase, sounds a bit better and is a lot better to drive.

what about all these guys that spend £ on making a 172/182 faster is that wasted? why not buy a turbo car and get massive power for the same money?

Different kettle of fish, in a major way.

  Turbos.
Not really. Clio Sports are s**t slow too.

If the dude wants to do a speedo vid, let him. But Martin, people were clearly joking, just laugh it off.

i cant see how its a different kettle of fish? why spend thousands on a 180bhp car to get it to not much over 200bhp when spend that on somthing that was designed to be fast such as an evo and you get a massive power boost?

its the same idea as why i mod a 1.2 because the car was cheap, its fun to drive and has potential.

what about freds 1.2 that was passing 172s on track? who said a 1.2 cant be fast

EDIT: i dont mind people having a joke when its just 1 or 2 people saying it but everyone said it and no one had anything decent to say

if u wanna show how fast it is get a rr print out, a video doesnt really prove much to be honest

Ahh..the old Superduper Megaflow, that wily old fox.

Have you thought about a Flux capacitor?

i think you must be getting confused its not a superduper megaflow its a super megaflow, im assuming you dont know what it is since your having a laugh at it?

i cant see what benefit having a flux capacitor on a car would have performance wise?

to be honest neather does a RR unless its a before and after on the same RR with same air temp etc as im sure you know.

i was bored thought id make a video, video didnt turn out as great as i thought but i thought id post it anyway.

Basically, the flux capacitor helps because once you reach 88mph, you can effectively travel at the speed of light, which is pretty damned fast.

Dude, don't worry about the video. Everybody loves to b**ch on here, but most people are just having a laugh - water off a ducks...
