im pretty sure you can cut the cat off and weld a straight pipe in its place. Smashing the insides out of a standard 1 sounds well echoy if you know what i mean lol

cats are expensive... around 50 second hand...

your better off buying one off ktec mate as they are only around 50 quid new :)

k tec dont do decats for 1.2's anymore as it made the car idle badly. i looked into it and i decided to buy a used cat for £40 and smashed the inside up. much better than welding straight pipes imo as it is easier to switch back to normal cat for mot. decating my exhaust was the best thing i ever did. dont think it wil be much louder on a standard exhaust but with a sports exhaust it made it alot louder and pops like mad when you shift down

So let me get this right....

If I want to de-cat a car (With aftermarket backbox), all I need to do is buy a spare Cat for the MOT, and beat the s**t out of the current Cat?????

How does that work?

Please enlighten me, as I dont know much about cat's.....:S

i also want to decat mine, already have a powerflow exhaust with a standard cat. so do i just buy an old second had cat and break the baffles out the inside? (i thought that second hand cats where still pretty expensive because they contain precious metals or something?) how difficult/easy is it to swap teh cat over?
