Hi guys... im fairly new to this forum but have read alot of progress threads recently and decided its time for my own! im currently driving a clio 1.2 which is my mums. im 18 and have nearly gone a year since i passed so will be looking for my own clio soon...enjoy

any suggestions of cheap mods i could do while waiting to get my own car? sometihng my mum won't mind me doing either

silver indicator bulbs get the fried egg look outa the lights. spray badges and maybe colour code your self if you feel comfortable with doing it. aero wipers and deffo an RS grill

Okay so will be getting my own car very soon...any ideas on what engine/spec to get on a clio? im 18....hopefully wil have 1 ncb and passed a year ago any suggestions appreciated

i'd look at getting a 1.4 or 1.6 if you can afford the insurance, how much you got to spend on the car?

ive got about three grand all together inc insurance...but got a quote on a 1.6 and came up around 1500 but not sure wether im able to get a decent 1.6 for 1500 ?

you can probly pick up a nice ph1 1.6 for that, or save a little more and get a ph2

Yeah ill certainly have a look around...i was wanting a ph1 anyway...then i can use the extra cash for ph2 lights etc...where abouts you form anyway?

Yeh it's a good first car, what I've got atm and I love it! Quite nippy and a good starter before the main course of a 1*2

Okay...bit of an update, but not exactly progress...car has just had cambelt done, along with new front discs, shocks, springs, front and rear tyres and track rod ends...i have decided to not bother looking for my own car but to start subtle mods on this

Okay so ive decided i want some new wheels...any suggestions on what to get? i want something i can bolt straight on and something i can find easily with tyres preferably...any ideas?

I'd go with some Genuine 172 16" alloys or some Pro race Team dynamics 16".

non-cup 172 wheels, 172 cup wheels (turinis), 182 wheels, TD pro-race 1.2's, OZ ultraleggera's, OZ superleggera's, Speedline 2118's, 16v Speedline Turbines

There are loads out there, check ebay, the fitments you require are 4x100 stud and 60.1 centre bore.

Sounds good, Having the centre caps as well makes them even better! They're a b*****d to get hold of.

I payed no much less than that and mine were in a bad state with no tyres.
