i went from a 1.6 to driving a bmw m3 within about 6 months of passing my test and was fine. then again, i did a huge amount of driving, i dont do anything daft and i do tons of miles. i used to swap cars around a lot, drove all sorts of things.
just make sure youre used to the stopping and slowing down distances and the differences in the handling before you do anything that might endanger you in front of a speed camera. i got done for speeding in an automatic because i had forgotten that the braking distances are longer.
as soon as you think "im gonna impress people/my mates" step out of the car!
u were driving an M3 within 6 months of passing ur test? wudnt suggest that to too many people

i know what that feels like, my old 1.2 is now my brothers car, and after driving my 172 around all the time, then jumping into his (my old car) it feels so pathetic.Quote: Originally posted by badinvincible on 13 July 2004
i think going from a 2.0 down to 1.2 is a lot harder as the power isnt there to get you out of trouble
Cept suspension and brakes I hope?Quote: Originally posted by Mike172sport on 13 July 2004
1.2 to 172, thats my next project , my little bro wants it done when he gets his clio, so god damn it! it will be done!!
I told him everything else will be left standard, so it will be a pucker street sleeper![]()
