1.2 to a 172

  None

Would you think the jumps would be too big?? I can get insured on a 172 for just over a grand :) not bad for a 20 year old with 2 years ncd

Nope.

I went from a 1.2 -> Williams.. after a week, its ok.. heh. You expect the power.

Williams -> 1.2 is harder.. cus the acceleration has just gone, heh.

If you can afford it, why not?

You know what to expect in terms of reliability, quality etc.

Just take it steady and itll be fine.

i did the jump from 1.2 to a 2.0 which has 150bhp, as u have had driving experience id say u qualify but be careful

even with my 150bhp it took time to get used to it

remember-the day u think ur driving ability out performs the car is the day u crash

I went from a 1.0l to a Valver at the age of 18. I still aint smashed it up.

[Edited by Gaz2130 on 13 July 2004 at 4:19pm] come to think of it, the 1.2 enigne did have a Pipercross IK which gave me an extra 5 billion bhp.

i went from a 1.6 to driving a bmw m3 within about 6 months of passing my test and was fine. then again, i did a huge amount of driving, i dont do anything daft and i do tons of miles. i used to swap cars around a lot, drove all sorts of things.

just make sure youre used to the stopping and slowing down distances and the differences in the handling before you do anything that might endanger you in front of a speed camera. i got done for speeding in an automatic because i had forgotten that the braking distances are longer.

as soon as you think "im gonna impress people/my mates" step out of the car!

  Clio 172 Cup, Audi A

i went from a 1.2 extreme to my cup, even without a test drive as none of the dealerships would let me take one for a test drive...with the excuse of its a too powerful car..

so I bought my cup without a test drive....first thing I did when i drove it was do a wheelspin off of the forecourt as I wasnt used to it...

unintentionally of course ;)

i think going from a 2.0 down to 1.2 is a lot harder as the power isnt there to get you out of trouble
i know what that feels like, my old 1.2 is now my brothers car, and after driving my 172 around all the time, then jumping into his (my old car) it feels so pathetic.
