1.4 16v - Hot Start Problem...Please Help!

I friend of mine is having a great deal of trouble with his 1.4 16v Privilege. Basically, when the car is cold it starts no problem, however after the car is up to temperature (even if the journey is only 15 mins or so) and the engine is stopped (say you went for petrol), the car won't start again.

If you leave it for about 10 or 15 mins, most of the time it clears and starts again, albeit with a bit of persuation sometimes.

Anyone have ANY ideas as to what's wrong? As it's driving him mad.

The car is out of warranty btw.

Flooding it? Don't touch the gas. I ahve this problem at night when the xenon's try to kick in.

not touching gas at all son, i've tried it myself.

proper weird fault though. :S

Happens with my 1.4 16v Alize 99 X reg.

Took it to Renspec in Poole for a diagnostic check but everything was ok on their print out.

Don't know what causes it but it's bloody anoying! Also the idle seems to fluctuate more.

my 1.4 16v when warm used to nearly die on start up. Cleaned ICV all better

Idol control valve, to be fair i basically took airbox off and shot a load of carb cleaner into the throttle body. did the trick
