Think it would be more worth your while actually doing a full conversion with a bigger engine than just to get an extra 16v by trying to swap the head and ecu and stuff!
I dont know for sure, but its probably a whole new engine. The 1.4 8v will have been carried over form the mk1. Id imagine they made a completely new engine when they made it 16v. May as well drop in at least the 1.6, if not the 2.0.
ok cheers guys... ill hold out for a new car in a few years, thought it migth be a quick way of getting a bit more of this va-va-voom ive ben hearing aboiut
would req a complete new engine etc (as there completly different) of a doner car. id save your money and just save for something a bit quicker in a few years time.
yeah ill just wait & bulid my no claims up. when i finiosh uni i fancy getting some car for track days, for a bit of fun. Like a MR2 turbo, tune it up and keep the clio as a run-around.
