1.4 rt turbo!



  Renault clio 1.4 RT Mk1
Hi there im looking to convert my standard 1.4 rt to a turbo. Would a renault 5 turbo manifold fit on to the engine??How much do you think it would cost to do this?I was either going to turbo my 1.4 or get my brother to weld a williams 2.0ltr engine into the boot!! I think ide be cheaper turbocharging my engine tho. Any points in the right direction would be so helpful.

Buy a complete R5 turbo thats been bumped ( nice n cheap ) and use it as a donor car. Fit the complete engine / transmission with all the ECU and loom. Its an easy transplant as the earlier clios used a Renault 5 engine ( 1100cc C1G type ) so the mounts are identical.

Oh .... i have a Ren 5 turbo for sale ( salvage complete )

his is a 1.2 8v with about 30 of those ebay resistor things on it, its quite fast!

na hes got a 1.8T from an Audi S3 in it, he'll give you the full spec

how much it cost for engine implant?

just short of £10,000 up to date with more to come

If you are talking about turbo'ing the E7 energy engine it has been discussed to death and it seems the disadvantages outweighed the advantages. R5GTT ex manifold wont fit it.

Better to just drop a valver or willy lump in there because the power will be a far bit better than a turbo E7 anyway.
