1.6 16v K4M Low Oil pressure

I know its unlikley but worth asking if anyone else has experience of this?

Got a K4M race engine, and it suffers from really low oil pressure.

Has anyone else got any experience of this? Is there a different pump you can use for better pressure, without dry sumping it?

Any advice much appriciated.

Pull the sump off and inspect the pickup... proberbly blocked. Oh, pics?

pick up filter usually gets bit of sealer etc stuck in it. failing that iirc either dci or f4r pump is same

Cheers lads. Should have explained better. This was after a couple of brand new pumps, pickup is find. Oil gets changed after every 40 miles etc.

Hutchie, could you tell me very specifically which pumps from which engines and years would be the same. I assume a DCI one might produce more pressure?

how low is low?

Low as it 50 psi @ 5000rpm when cold max 20 psi @ 7000 rpm when hot. Idles at 0 psi when hot.
