1.6 16v standard exhaust

I have a 51 plate 1.6 16v dynamique +....My exhaust is always fairly noisy even at say 30mph in 5th gear. I dont think this is a fault of any sort but has anyone else had similar issues?
I think ive heard somewhere that the 1.6 has the same backbox as a 172? Correct me if im wrong
