does anyone know if these came with different suspension than the 1.2's etc? and are the springs any lower.

i phoned up about getting my eibachs fitted and the chap said my car already has a "sports package" and eibachs wouldnt make a hoot of a difference. its a 2004 clio 1.6 dynamique if that helps.

The dynamique is said to have slightly stiffer and lower suspension afaik but there's nothing in it tbh. I think this person you have phoned simply doesn't want your business.

I think the suspension is slightly stiffer from 1.4 upwards...sure I read that on here. Go somewhere else though. His loss.

sports suspension package was fitted on all Dynamique cars with the 1.4 16v, 1.6 16v, and DCi models

ive driven cars equipped with the "sports suspension package" and then driven the same car with eibachs fitted and their is a difference, however the eibachs in my opinion arnt a great match for the standard dampers on non RS cars, the spring rates dont suit it, and thats coming from a car with fresh genuine dampers all round

i have been able to find a garage that can do it for £120, is it worth getting done comepared to standard springs yeah? they are sitting on my bed waiting to be fitted.

so basically uprate my dampers aswell?

Yeh your right, your wrong . None of the clio models have/had fully independant suspension they've got a solid rear beam with trailing arms at the back which is semi-indepandant(ish).

If you've got them then chuck them on by all means, £120 i'd say was ok/bit steep only should really be an hours labour at a garage with a ramp.

i called up another few places and they quoted 200 plus VAT, including tracking. so im quite pleased i guess with the £120, as that included tracking aswell.

just the chap i spoke to says it wont lower the car or make any difference to handling, which is really what i want, so was kind of undecided what to do.

My old 1.4 16v was fitted with 60mm springs from k-tec. Never had a problem. Never scrubbed or anything, with 16's 195/45 tyres on. MUCH better handling. Do it i say!!

Eibach prolines. They lowered it slightly, and I could tell the difference. Was more planted round bends definitely.

As someone said, the 1.4 and 1.6 16v, and DCi models did have a 'Sports Suspension' pack. This included uprated dampers and springs, as well as thicker ARBS iirc.

when i had my eibachs on my 1.2 its was a masive difference. kept up with 1.4s and sum 1.6s just cos ov the way it handled.

people just get more confidence when they get their springs changed to something stiffer, the pace i can hold in bends in my girlfriends standard 1.6 16v is nearly what i can do in the dci and thats just because she has cheap tyres and i have T1-R's all round. they handle well as standard they are just soft, that doesnt mean bad!

£120 with a proper lazer tracking/alignment aint a bad price.
i think fit them and see how you get on, if you feel you need better dampers then you can get them later......

surly they are lower/ more progressivly wound than standard "sports" suspension so should see a difference in corners and looks!!!

£120 is about the going rate, you don't need tracking though.

When I got a guy to fit springs onto my old focus he said it wouldn't make any difference but he did it anyway and he said he was surprised how much difference they did make, which they did, a lot.

I think it's just mainstream garages can't be bothered doing these sort of jobs.

i wouldnt be paying any more than 2 hours labour so £70 max, i can do them in an hour without ramps! u dont even need to take the bloddy back wheels off!

and yes you will need the tracking done or it will go thru tyres quicker.

well spoke to some mates and no-one has fitted them before. it is my daily car so its the kind of thing when its getting done it needs to be quick, otherwise id have a shot myself.

i reckon ill bend over, and pay the 120. i will get the tracking done, its included in the price anyway, and dont want to shred through tyres.

how much do prolines generally lower by?

do prolines not lower around 20mm? the box says upto 40mm but obviously thats never happening.

i do know they lower more on non sports than they do on sports.

Prolines do lower it. I had them on mine, and they lowered it about 30mm. Looked good with my 16s, as it looked stockish.

Not mine, which was cyclone blue, but lowered on prolines, and with the same wheels me, and its a 1.6.

The handling was bloody brilliant with them fitted, as they are not as harsh as the sportlines would be.

Mine on Prolines. Defo makes a difference in both ride height and handling.
