^ true as did samsung but both pulled the plug on production in november, lg at the moment are the only reputable company planning to produce one mainstream in any decent quantity though, its not in toshibas immediate interests to promote Blu-Ray as they are the main supporters of HD-DVD

Yeah but this announcement is a disk that contains both formats and will mean that it makes no difference which format of player you own. That has to be a good product, price dependant.

new news in that lg & warners have confirmed they are actually doing something positive and worthwhile about it and at least going some way to assisting us the consumer, too many other companies giving no choice or flexibility imho
