True. Its easier to go by power @ the wheels if you ask me.
Danny if yours didnt own a 155bhp GTi i'd be disgusted...lol. I've owned many a car in that beasty.. You've pretty much got the same power at the wheels let alone fly.
Both valvers and GTi's are pretty strange because there genuinely seems to be slow ones and quick of both.

Ive had a few goes against vts's (same engine as gti) and up to 60 there is nothing in it, mine edged it towards the end of 3rd and when in 4th was very very slowly pulling away. My mate has a black vts and ive very slowly edge past him at 130 ish on a private road. My valvers on 160k+ now too, same engine.
