11.5 0-60

My mate has just bought a 182, only done a few thousand miles but he keeps on how slow it is. Told him it needs to be run in and offerd to let him drive my 172 to compare it. Anyway to cut along story short last night he did a timed run with a stop watch and reckons it took 11.5 seconds!!!!!......Ive told him to take the handbrake off as this might help......

11.5 seconds? tell your mate to move his seat forward so he can push the throttle past 3000 rpm. sometimes life give you these throwbacks who dont deserve to drive nice cars.
Clarky 172, ive just bought my first clio sport, (work for renault though, so been round them for years!!) can you post some pics of yours as it looks well nice.. and whats the difference between your open k+n induction, and my normal k+n induction??!!

il put a FAO for u in media pics n vid. i aint got many cos im not at home, im round my mates but ill send u some next week! my bmc is supposidly a bit better than an open air one like k&n cos it doesnt suck up all the hot air in the engine bay as its a closed induction kit!yours is an open type?!

i know of a certain valver owner that did an 11 second 0-60.. lol, same speed as my best time in a standard 1.4rt!!

Probably changing gears far too soon and not letting it come on cam.

When I first drove the 182, i thought "hmmm, lacking a bit of low end torque" and then I let the revs build and go past 5000 rpm.

Brown trouser moment.

Of course, used to it now, but at the time it was like "woooahh, so THATS where the power is!"

all the power is around 6200 rpm i dont think its that powerful until you hit the high revs, but thats 16valvers for you
