Diablo El Zippy is now Diablo El I just s**t myself....

the revs just don't stop going up. Was crusin alongside my bro on the way home (BMW 323) at a 5k rev is 5th then I just planted it and before I knew it I was about a mile in front! (he didn't plant his he just kept on crusin) but i was sooo impressed with the power in 5th it's madness! luv it!

thanks again to Andy Bex and Garry, most helpfull and very patient, especially when I kept calling for updates!!
 
hey hold on, hold on. I have 160 HP just after touching into the engine :(
I got 178 HP while testing a new program with still old exaust etc...
 
what have you done to your car and how are you getting those figuers? don't wanna be rude but I think you may got someting wrong somewhere??!?!
 
I understand if you don't want to mention it on here (pm?) but roughly how much were you looking at for that?

And, as a general question to Andy and anyone else with experience of them, are the 1.8 engines still reliable when modded? I'm wary of touching mine because it's been so reliable so far, and I've done the whole money-pit thing with the last car so don't fancy doing it again! :S
 
lets just say my wallet has taken a healthy 4 figure dent but there were a few extra standard parts that were done too. Andy has just mentioned the uprated parts...

exactly 159 HP and 174 NM with Catcams only still on hydr. Of course head gasket was slightly prepare for it. But this is still with all other series stuff

(I do have a graph of it - checked in 3 places ;) )
 
fair play to ya! I don't know enough to ask more "technical" questions but good luck to ya!

I'm off to start mine up and just sit there listening to it! haha!!
 
I heard this car fire up for the first time when I was at GDI the other week. Sounded very nice at idle, lumpy and deep.

What rpm does it make peak power?
 
thanks peeps, i can to to 8k but I won't be doing that very often just over about 7.2k and it ever so slightly looses power.

forgot to say..

Big thanks for Bex for washing the car while we watched and drank tea!
 
which just show you that you could use more agressive camshafts to achiever power going up all the time untill the rev limiter
