162bhp 1800 16V clio on the rollers.

hmm don't see to many decent powered 1.8s around wonder how it would compare to a 160 bhp willy...

lmao..mine used to run at 122 @ the wheels......diff rollers....top quality rollers too.....and it was a std valver with de-cat, zorst and power sapping filter lmao..........

Were the figs at the fly or at the weels?
And have you got any picks the cams being fitted, as I was looking in to something like this ?
The re map must have been fun to do having changed so many parts.

thanks for all the good comments.

there is no pleasing everyone so there was bound to be odd person or 2 giving it the "my car is better" but I'm not one for track days, this is my normal every day car so could have gone for higher profile cams etc but it needs to remain drivable......

oh and it certainly isn't flat.....I think smooth is the word your looking for....

Hmmmmm, thats a mighty good figure for the mods, whos RR was it run on? Can we see a power graph?

Listen to the vid again! LOL....Flat!!!!!!!! It peaks about 1k rpm before you hit the limiter.

it never hit the limiter...

the video was on the rollers with power taken at stages... its not an inertia one...

its an eddy current one...

in other words the power is being held back deliberatly, so that is why it might "sound" flat...

160 bhp from a valver is not unheard of for something with decent cams and verniers in it... its also got the supersprint manifold... so it breaths well....

its done on Mass racings RR, which we use all the time..

anyhow peak power is at 7000 rpm, it starts to drop off a little at 7500... still pulling just not quite as hard.

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLDDDDDD UP!

all that for 128 @ wheels?

my old greenie used to run 127@wheels on different rolling roads all the time! only had a devil exhaust system and a hill power chip!

here's one from when i put a pipercross induction kit on and it lost a whole 1bhp so i took it off again. lol

thought cams were a bit of a waste of time in a valver?? im having my new cams fitted in the willy soon with verniers, should see a nice gain along with the other mods ive got.

cams and verniers work really well with a williams

different RR, different results... almost everytime..

the main thing, there was a usefull improvment.

Well according to that pic your car also did 7000mph  ;)

???

I must say I'm most confused by the feed back I'm getting on this. Most seem well impressed and yet others are trying to pick holes?!?

lol - yes 7000 mph.... thats what u get one u have the "only" green valver ;)

never actually noticed that... lol - obviously revs.

but i got pretty much the same results on 3 different rolling roads. that was just the one i had on my puter i found.

not picking holes as such, just saying..... all i had was chip and exhaust for that

but yours was special ben........the 7000mph was only because you had those sculpted vielside type sideskirts which reduced drag Coef to -8.76

Ben (r) did you take a look at my car at all while it was there? or do you guys just leave each other to it?

Just wondered what you think of it....
