Or a GTT lump - much more fun. Youll be bored with the valver lump pretty quick and will want to tune it. Itll then cost loads to get good gains.

goin for turbo bout year after it goes in and gtt doesnt really appeal chears anyway mate but putting ktec turbo takes it to 200bhp so sound good to me

is but my bodywork on it is alot better than 16v i have seen also when i got bout 23obhp clio beat most cars on road cheers for help

If your gonna spend that much check out Nick Reads Clio 16v Turbo thats for sale. Prob the best and one of/if not THE fastest Clios on the forum.

£6,995 I think and it WILL be in better nick and looks than anything else about. Stunning mk1 Clio.

got it sorted now think no turbo will wait little bit until ktec release it gonna be around 2-3 grand takes it to 190 200bhp on its own then uprate few other bit

just buy a mint valver mate.....so much easier..

if you wanna be different though.......which is a good thing....i would definately go for a gtt conversion..they sound so much better especially with a dump valve.

Id put a post up and ask some one with a valver in your area to take you for a spin. To see if you still want to go that route. Then maybe see if any one has a GTT conversion.

I was actually gonna get my valver lump taken out and get the GTT conversion after Diamond Geezer took me for a spin in his.

Just bought a faster car in the end.

Oh right. I just wondered because you type/speak like a 3 year old.

Id say in my honest opinion that you should just get a clio 16v and spend a bit of money tuning it. Its less hassle than a engine conversion.

At the end of the day a RT is sh*t so why just put a big engine in there? A valver has a better dash, seats, suspension, wider track, engine, Brakes the list is endless.

I had mint one. Just take a look on a/trader and go look at a few.

Another thing is, have you got a quote on an engine converted RT? Its alot more than a valver

the insurance difference isnt bad, it cost me 35.00 to change from a valver lump to modified 5 turbo lump. on paper 5 lump has less power. in reality it stuffs um!

Insunce will be a hell of alot more whether he changes to a GTT lump or valver. They do it on the percentage power increase from standard

Ive got an rt with a gtt lump in my garage and will be putting it in my 16v in a month or so. GTT is the way forward mate soooo much more power for so little money (compared to 16v turbo) and if it breaks is easy enough to fix yourself. Insurance is not to bad either im 19 with adrian flux and clio gtt is only £100 more than a valver.

Put it this way, if you get either a valver or a valver conversion youll get bored of it in a matter of months. Youll want more power. Then youll find theyre really not that tunable.

Well they are but you have to throw money at it. Things like head work, cams etc isnt cheap.

A GTT engine is so easy to work on some people even dont charge for the labour for certain parts.
