16v door rattle, common

  clio williams, Ph1 172

Ive noticed an annoying creaking rattling noise from my drivers door. Is there anything that works loose inside? So I know what to look for when i rip the door panel off?

Could be the metal runner that goes along the bottom of the window. Ive taken mine out on both sides cos they started rattling. If you take the speaker off you can reach up in the door and take it off. That is of course if thats what is rattling in the first place.

I also have the rattling, only in the passenger side door. Sounds like its towards the top left corner (from inside). It is worst on rough roads. I just ignore it.

Is it just when ur windows down? If so mine did it but never solved it.

I have a rattle just under the plastic lock part that sticks up. It sounds like a loose nut - im going to dismantlte the door this weekeng and finally banish my one rattle!

Just get handy with the star keys and take it apart. Theres always a reson for the squeak and you have to remember that the car is probably ten years old!

Fill the door with expandable foam!! That should do the trick, the car may be twice as heavy, but therell be no rattles!! :D
