16v Gearbox problems

Hi, I've just bought a clio 16v 1995 with a naffed gearbox.
Is ebay the best place to look for another?
Any tips on fitting?
What other gearboxes are suitable for my motor?
What should i look to pay for one?

Youshould be looking to spend around £50. Get on williamsclio.co.uk and also clio16v

Do you know whats up with the gearbox? Might be an easier fix. Could be the gearbox circlip if the speedo rises but you dont have any drive. £50 for an old one and upto about £150 for a decent box. JC5's are the ones to have from a williams, the valvers have JB3's.

any J Series box will fit it JB1 (1.2 16v), JB3 box (standard valver, 1.4 16v, 1.6 16v, DCi65) JC5 (Clio 172/182, DCi80, williams)

Ive got a Jb3 off a valver--£75.

some JB1's dont fit properly someone found that out the other day lol assuming you have a 1.8 get the JB3 its the right box for the engine.
