16v gearbox - wot will fit

knackered my gearbox

clio 16v

took it out the other night so now car is sittin on axle stands in need of box

wot boxes will fit? will a ren 19 1.9D fit? (for price sake)

quaoted of renualt at £398 for clio 16v box

i live in northeren ireland

I think Rens use two different boxes but i cant be sure. Id of though theyd of had all the same box at the time f manu. 19s clios etc

A diesel gearbox will be higly geared. So I guess 5th would be good for 150.

The Williams gearbox has the same ratios, except for a taller 5th gear. Also has uprated bearings and casing - for £550 from Renault. Not suggesting you go for it, but just an idea.

Willy box goes straight in as well but is definitely longer like Ben says.

a more or less standard valver wont pull a willy fifth itll just die when u select fifth unless ur going downhill lol

150 is possible tho more if chipped with enough beans

LOL which is why only bad boy valvers run a Willy box. A standard one would be better off with a standard box. If anything I could do with a longer box than the Willy; at 145mph on the GPS speedo, there wasnt a lot of revs left before the limiter, possibly enough to hit 150-155 but no more than that.
