16V springs on 1.4RT (phase 1)

I want to lower my car and i was thinking about swaping my existing standard springs for the ones off the 16V because i heard it sits a bit lower.

has anybody done this ?

Does it also improve handling ?

should i also get the shocks off the 16V or are they the same as the rt ?

also, i have the phase 1 wheels, Will this cause a problem with rubbing on the arches if i change the springs. Are the 16V arches wider? or will mine need to be widend ?

16Vers have wider front and rear arches, im not sure about the suspension though. The back you dont need to worry about, but the front on a 16V has probably got a wider front track, why not just fit uprated front and rear shocks with some lowering springs to your original suspension?????

16v shocks are different. Id imagine that the stroke is different to RT shocks as well.

So you might as well try to get some 16v shocks too. But second hand Valver springs/shocks are likely not to be in the best condition possible - probably already seen 60k plus miles.

16v arches are wider. But you cant just "widen" your RT ones!! 16v front arches are plastic and, wierdly, cost less than normal metal ones. Theyre wider to take the wider track that the 16v/Williams have. New shocks/springs wont increase your track (wheels might slightly), so there shouldnt be any need for arches anyway.
