16valve replica

Alright guys, i have the the chance to get hold of a mk1 phase 3 1.4RT now i have all the bits to make it look like a replica and a guy from www.clio16valver.co.uk is making a tutorial so i can have a phase 3 to phase 1/2 conversion now this is where i am abit stuck, its not a major decision but is it worth having the 16valve plastic strips down the side of the car or is that going abit too far! if its gonna look like a propper replica then surely the strips are gonna make it more legit BUT also it makes the car look like something its not... what would you do?

Have the strips aswell

keep the RT signs

I'd settle with the fact I owned a Mk1 Ph3 1.4 RT Clio and save for the real thing.. Its much the same as owning a toyota MR2 and fitting a ferrari 355 bodykit.

It might look like a ferrari - but ultimately its just an average car with a selection of plastic body panels attached.

hmmm... personally if I was building a replica for day to day use, then I would keep it baged up as what it is, if it was replica for show car purposes then yes I'd badge it as what it was a replica of.

its coz im only 17, i can afford a valver BUT the chances of me getting insured isnt very high or i would have one!

Tbh if you tell your insurance company you've made it look like a valver (even though its not got the engine) it will prob go up loads - reason being a valver is a hot hatch & more likely to get stolen.
Your common theif won't realise its not a real one (if you do it well enough)

One other thing, if depends of how much odf a rep you want it to be, front wings, bunnet, bumper track etc - but you'd need the rear arches done as well- not an easy job.

Tbh i'd wait a year & then get a real one, a few on here have owned them at 18.
